Dogs That Sleep In The House - Question On Times
raffikki replied to JulesP's topic in General Dog Discussion
My two are inside, in the lounge room, asleep at around 7.30pm..their choice not mine Official bed time is around 9.30-10pm and they have their last loo stop then before going to "bed" in their crates. Rhino usually wakes around 6.30-7am, Electra would sleep longer if I let her When they were younger, until about 10 months, I'd get up once during the night to let them have a pee. -
Electra had an "avulsion tibial crest" when 4 months old. After her surgery and being kept crated for 3 weeks, I was advised to take her for short 5 minute walks. I did this every hour or so for about week and then extended the walks slowly for another few weeks(from memory) before letting her run and play like normal. She is now seeing an acupuncturist, who told me that she may have been able to help alot more if I'd taken Electra to her sooner, she had a few problems with waisted muscle in the injured leg. Are you still in Perth? If you would like our acupuncturist's details I can pm the to you. Hope the pup is feeling better soon :p Oh here's the link to my thread with Electra's xrays, in case you want to have a look http://www.dolforums.com.au/index.php?show...=173482&hl=

My guys had their first annual shots last week. I was told that the vaccine was a 3 yearly one, and that the one they had at 12 weeks was also a 3 yearly one (but it was recommended to get the vaccine again at 15/16 months) The one thing that concerned me, and this is just the impression I got off the vet, is that the "3 yearly vaccine" is stronger than the normal yearly one, so it's not just leaving it longer

Yeah, the postage was pretty high, from memory. Snooza do a similar bed Snooza cuddler There are probably stockists over here to make it easier Our beds are "large" which is 90cm diameter, though they have spread out a bit now.

Sinus Infection ..help Needed
raffikki replied to redkidsmum's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
My last dog had Nasal Aspergillosis and had pretty much the same symptom you describe....nasty smell, he also had an almost constant drip of snot and sneezed alot. He also snorted frequently, like he was trying to blow something out. The local vet wasn't able to see as far up the nasal cavity as they'd like so referred me to an Oncologist at the Uni vet hospital where a Endoscopy - Rhinoscopy and a CT scan was done, as well as blood tests. The treatment was costly but cleared it up after two attempts. If you can get a referral, to an oncologist, they would certainly be able to do the test required and find the problem -

goldchow & Toohey, thanks you so much for the updates And to you Jed, it has brought tears to my eyes(happy tears of course) to know that you can come on here and read how everyone is thinking of you so often I have been waiting for this time to post a piece of writing I've kept(for about 20 years lol )....I'm unsure of the author. Hope you like it Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow There are two days in every week about which we should not worry. Two days which should be kept free from fear and apprehension. One of these days is YESTERDAY, with it's mistakes and cares, it's aches and pains, it's faults and blunders. Yesterday has past forever beyond our control. All the money in the world cannot undo a single act we performed. We cannot erase a single word we said, yesterday is gone. The other day we should not worry about is TOMORROW, with it's possible adversities, it's large promise and poor performance. Tomorrow also is beyond our immediate control. Tomorrows sun will rise, either in splendour or behind a mask of clouds.....but it will rise. Until it does we have no stake in tomorrow, for it is yet unknown. That leaves only one...TODAY. Any man can fight the battles of just one day. It's only when you and I add the burdens of those two awful eternities, yesterday and tomorrow, that we break down. It is not the experience of today that drives people mad. It is the remorse or bitterness which happened yesterday and the dread of what tomorrow may bring. Let us therefore, journey, but one day at a time. -
I've fed it to my last dog and he did really well on it I also think a few kennels use it, or at least ones I have checked out/used. Here's the website Tucker Time

I actually wasn't offered to build up the dosage. I guess/assume the RUSH therapy either makes it easier for the client OR they find it works better?? I will ask about it all when we go back in, in a fortnight, and let you know if you like
-
It is misleading, I guess, I will discuss it with our derm when we go in for a revisit.
-
Both my guys had the RUSH therapy, Rhino back in December & Electra just last week. I'm not sure what you mean, did I do it myself? They both went into the Derm clinic/Uni for a day to get it done. They now have an injection every 3 weeks, which I give myself. :D Edited for grammar

Hi sas On the information paperwork from our derm, it says ETA

oh Toohey, that's awesome news and just goes to show what a wonderful, warm, brave, lady Jed is! I have tears of joy, for a lady I know very little about, just knowing she is awake-ish and able to communicate with her daughter THANK YOU for letting us know ;) ;) -
Very pretty
-
If it were me, I'd just go to the second vet and tell them the problem and what's been advised so far. I gather whatever the problem, the treatments not working? Have you discussed your concerns with the original vet?
-
Hi Here is a little info about the different vaccinations: And a bit more info here Vaccinate for Life!

Words fail me too Thoughts are with Jed, her family and friends in this terrible time. RIP little ones -
