  1. I've been lucky and neither seem to have food allergies/intolerances. Their main diet is still Canidae Pure Sea, but they get other things in kongs and training treats etc. Could Gibbs will grow out of the reaction to bees?? Both of mine had very bad reactions to stings when younger, not sure if the desensitisation injections have helped, but both have been stung since and not had a problem.
  2. Steggles, 116 Howe Street, Osborne Park, have a small shop where you can get chicken really cheap(think you may need to order in advance for things like wings/necks etc), it's all for human consumption but WAY cheaper than any shop) They also directed me just up the road to Pets Meat Suppliers, 86 Howe St, Osborne Park. Where you get a box(of 12 or 14, I can't remember, x1 kg bags) of minced frames, roo and possibly other meats. Again VERY cheap, snap frozen, so much fresher than the mince you get at Lenards. They sell bags of laying hens wings, cheaper than human grade of course. And they have loads of other stuff available too! Definitely worth checking out :D
  3. I have a person come and stay at my home, and much prefer this to boarding kennels. However if I had to choose between a kennel or someone only coming twice a day to feed/walk I would kennel them.
  4. Great pic I struggled to be able to vote for it, finally managed after right clicking on the thumbnail and viewing in a new window. Good luck
  5. I have two, almost 3 year old amstaffs, and the bunnings compost panels have been a god send!! The can bend a bit if they are really forced, but I think they would do the job for Rainy....along with the crib stop I tie them together with wire, not electrical ties, and they have protected many things in my yard :D
  6. I've seen you mention crib stop in a number of posts and it sounds like great stuff!! I am wondering if it dries, so then it doesn't wipe off onto hands etc?
  7. Here are the buckets I use Or you could use a couple of stakes in the lawn to hold the panels and bricks against the wall like this
  8. I use the bunnings compost panels to fence off anything that I don't want chewed. I use large plastic containers full of water to tie the panels too if there is nothing else. Of course the plastic containers need to be on the inside of the fenced area if they are likely to chew it! I'll go get a pic to show you what I mean ;)
  9. How about concrete slabs along the fence? I think you can get 500x500 or 400x400.
  10. If you have a vet hostital with a derm department or uni with the same, close to you, it may be slightly cheaper from there. I used to get the z/d from the derm at the uni and it was $119, compared to about $130 from my local vet.
  11. after a quick google search there are these 4 places online Vet Products Direct $102.55 The Vet Shed $105.64 Aussie Pet $101.20 Dr Carl $97.40 Of course you have to also consider the shipping costs ;)
  12. I have heard of it, though never used it. A kennel I looked at putting my dogs in used it, and swore it was/is a great food and helped lots of dogs with intolerances to wheat. I'm pretty sure they post here sometimes, if I remember their screen name I'm pm it to you :D I think what put me off it was corn can also be a problem with some dogs, and it is listed as the first ingredient, which as I understand isn't good(the meat should be the first ingredient) I'm not sure if you've checked the website, so here it is Pet Fare hopefully others with more experience than me will be able to give you their opinions!
  13. Great to hear he's fine I totally understand, I'm a worrier too
  14. I am sure I have read that tomatoes are NOT good for dogs, so did a quick google and found this that may be helpful to you http://www.dogsupplyplanet.com/can-dogs-eat-tomatoes.html I would possibly ring a vet to check and keep an eye on him, I assume there wouldn't have been that many on the plant?
  15. Not the Canning Vale area but Ascot Vets do the Nobivac 3 yearly vaccination ;)
  16. I found that they licked the area more which in turn made it worse. Would Cortavance spray be an option for Amber? I find the stuff brilliant
  17. In just found another site, it may have additional/different plants. http://www.biscaywaterdogs.com/Websites/biscay/Images/Poisonous%20plants%20to%20dogs.pdf
  18. Bosisto's Eucalyptus Spray is a great product for killing germs and removing odours
  19. I have tried to have a read through the act, but things like that don't make much sense to me I also live in the City of Swan, and have never had a problem with my council, though never get a reminder if payment is late. If it were me, I'd probably take the fine to the council office, and tell them I never got the renewal notice ;) and let them know about the registration with the other council. Insist it's not fair for you to have to pay the fine because you're more than willing to pay the rego.
  20. Maybe if you contact the DARWIN GREYHOUND RACING CLUB, they could recommend someone?
  21. I think she means storage mites ;) Edited cause Pav Lova beat me to the chicken answer
  22. My guys(Amstaff's) are fed Grain Free Pure Sea(Salmon). They have been on it for about 3&1/2 months because Royal Canin were changing the recipe for the Skin Support, which they were doing fantastic on. The main reason I chose the Salmon was because I wanted to help their skin as much as possible(allergies), so the the high amounts of omega 3 & 6 were great and figured grain free was a better option. One is a couch potato, the other is alot more active/alert. Both get about an hour exercise daily, plus play in the yard as they please. I've noticed no difference in their energy levels on Canidae compared to the various other brands they have been fed(SuperCoat, Advance, Hills z/d, Royal Canin) They do also get about 200gms of minced chicken frames(frozen in kongs) I hope that was the kind of feedback you were after
  23. I do my guys nails, I cut Electra's and file for a smooth finish, but only file Rhino's as he really detests them being cut. If I wasn't able to do them myself I guess I would try and get someone to help me with them, but if my only choice was having to pay someone, I would.
  24. Is this the thread you're after? 101 Uses For Apple Cider Vinegar
  25. I don't know of any canine nutritionists, sorry, but I have read that freezing dry food can help a bit with storage mites, which may be a problem if you're only feeding small amounts from a large bag. Freezing Dry Dog Food
