  1. About 12 months ago I gave a vet nurse $35 per day to look after my two. :)
  2. I was told that freezing dry dog food was not really a good idea as it affects the vitamins etc in it? I found this page that discusses the pros & cons :) Freezing Dry Dog Food
  3. I'm the same DDD, I think about her often and imagine her injuries would have been quite horrific My dogs are kept on lead around my mother, who's 82, as even an unintentional bump would bruise and an accidental claw would rip right through her delicate skin. The description by the men who helped, makes me think her injuries are very severe Possibly why they haven't released pictures is because the dog was owned by family and their shock and possible guilt feelings must be taken into account?
  4. Has anyone heard how the lady is doing? 7 news video here where it is mentioned about the other dogs owned at the same address.
  5. So horrific Praying she recovers. 9 News video here
  6. What a shame I didn't see this earlier, I have about 25 meters of pool fencing sitting in my shed I could have lent you to make a yard for sweet Bruno :) I've used it with star pickets and it is really sturdy! I have used the bunnings compost panels to make a fence/yard for my two when workmen have been here, and they haven't got through it.....you've met Rhino and know if he wanted though something he wouldn't hesitate  but they have respect for fencing(though will jump on it to get pats/say hello, so again star pickets have kept it steady) Hopefully he'll love his crate, and maybe you could have him on lead, when the kids are outside, for short periods to let him stretch his legs/have a pee? Have a nice day, I'm sure it will all be fine :)
  7. I buy my dry food and raw/snap frozen(roo steaks etc to make soft treats) from Pet Meat Suppliers in Oxford St, Mt Hawthorn They have a few dried treat listed on the website, but may have more in shop. For dried training treats I buy from Happy Paws Training Treats even though it's over east, I usually get the treats in a few days :D
  8. I would use something like Royal Canin Hypoallergenic with such a young dog. Both my dogs did an an elimination diet when they were younger(10months & 13months) and we used Hills Z/D ultra, but if I had to do it again I'd use the Royal Canin :)
  9. As a kid we used to take our GR to what we called North Cottesloe Beach. I just looked at the website for The Town of Cottesloe and it says From memory there was a little bit of reef but otherwise a lovely beach with very easy access, basically I think it's between Eric St and North St :)
  10. Spraying him with Permoxin daily will certainly help :)
  11. http://www.animalpest.com.au/retail-services/ http://www.wapoultryequipment.net.au/categories/large-animal-traps :)
  12. I'm another silent follower of Roo's journey and have admired the effort and extremes you have gone to, to try and help her. I am so sorry it has come to this but you will be giving her the greatest gift possible...she will be free of her demons.
  13. The thought of the drilling really freaked me out too, but they were only really small holes, requiring 2 stitches in each, and he was back to is normal self in a few days :D Good luck with the specialist! Please let us know how you get on :) :D
  14. In 2008 my bull terrier had Nasal Aspergillosis, he was 13&1/2 at the time. He had the procedure where they drill holes into the skull, but had to have it done again about 4-6 weeks later to totally get rid of the fungus. He was fine after that and lived another year, completely snot free, before succumbing to Lymphoma If you can get to Murdoch to see the specialists, I'm sure they could advise you of the best approach for your boy :)
  15. This might be the topic you are referring too Plaque Remover
  16. I really hope Jed doesn't mind me putting this here, found it after searching for ages  and of course it was in a pretty obvious place..." Dog Breeds 101 > Boxer"
  17. One or maybe both of my dogs(can't remember as it was years ago they were tested) showed a high reaction to dust mites. I was given print outs on how to control/kill them and did a fair bit of searching to find products which helped :)
  18. Is this what you are looking for? http://www.ankc.org.au/national-registration-statistics.aspx
  19. Glad you found out the problem!! My last dog had the same fungus(aspergillus) in his nose and after a couple of treatments was cleared of it.
  20. No worries :) In any case I don't think having too much, as in an extra gm or two here or there, would do any harm.
  21. Just looking at my container of Protexin For dogs it says under individual dose..."Stress" 2-6gms & "Maintenance" 1-3gms and it also says *small-2gms, medium-4gms, large-6gms.... the "In Feed" (Kg/tonne)1.5 ("When animals are being stressed by management situations or antibiotic treatment, "In Feed" rates may be doubled for as long as necessary") I'm not sure what the "In Feed" actually means but the rest I see as saying 2-6gms per day would be fine short term, so 4gm would be fine for your girl. My two(25 & 27kgs) get approximately 2-3gms per day, split between two meals, and that dose suits them :)
  22. Yep, the link works. Have shared and hope she's found soon :)
  23. I have just noticed the exact same thing with one of my dogs! She has an appointment booked with the vet tomorrow at 2pm, will let you know what the out come is. With her it only happens in a certain light, as Alyosha asked....dimmish outside patio light, brighter on one side. ETA this pic taken seconds later, but with the flash, so the lighting was different
  24. another one from clean run(free shipping) Walkeez Fleece-lined Harness
  25. For indoor/night time vests I got mine from The Wolfs Den (Soft Warm Double Polar fleece Vests) Little Gifts also has some great looking custom made coats but I think these are also indoor ones. EzyDog have great outdoor coats with chests covering
