No offence to the OP but I have a friend who weighs food and it drives me insane I ask her what's so difficult about digging the spoon in and putting what you think into the dish? BTW - she doesn't look underweight to me in those pics
-
You beat me to it (by about 3 hours) Why oh why was the puppy vaccinated when you took it there with a concern for it's health?!
-
Totally agree cowanbree

Which show Bec - Morisset? Yep I'll be the one in grp 1 that everyone is pointing and laughing at! Oh......except maybe the judge.......... I'll try to locate you and say hi

I have images of monkeys swinging on vines and nasty big cats chasing tails

If this happens again before you start your training next week, pop one puppy elsewhere and spend time with one nd swap them over or give one puppy something to chew on (a treat of somesort) in the same room and play a game with the other - essentially teaching them to do seperate things...

It's really important you do, they'll begin to respect and bond with you individually. At the present time they are most likely debating for your attention and typically telling each other off when they both attempt to win your affection. With one on one, they'll soon learn there's no need to squabble, you give them each their own special time and training. JMT

Do you spend one on one time with each puppy?
-
grinder (dremel) here too - dogs much prefer it and it gives a much better result IMO :D
-
Sluggo, I thought the above two responses were very good and hopefully helpful to you :D
-
But why would you go against the knowledgable advise of breeders who deal with the interested breed Spotty?
-
Most of my dogs don't like being out in the cold, they are banging on the door to come back in should it be shut!
-
We spend lots of time outdoors too but the dogs are welcome in our home to spend time with the family inside and sleep in the house.
-
Tess32 - I apologise for suggesting a rabbit, I did not know they required what you've written
-
Does your back door (or whichever door leads the backyard) go onto tiles or carpet into the house?
-
Usually (unless it's wet) we get very minimal dirt/debre in the house... If it's wet, mine don't usually like to go out, therefore they are forced to go out to toilet and towelled off before coming back in ETA: they generally only bring in water off the grass though there's been the occassion of mud playing.
-
If the dog could sleep in the house - totally different story (for me anyway)

Completely agree You are spot on jettyjet... some people just can't seem to get their heads around this concept ...just as some people are having trouble getting their heads around the unsuitable idea of having a 100% outside dog - it's simply unfair? A rabbit...dogs should spend time inside with their human family! I have indoor rabbits only and don't think rabbits are suitable for outside. Oh ok - sorry Ok so a rabbit isn't suitable either... dog rabbit

Once again, if you took the time to read my post properly you would realise i never said 100% of the time.. i quote, "He will be allowed to wonder inside on occasions, but predominately outside." Obviously if it is bitterly cold or stinking hot the dog will be allowed indoors, i'm not that stupid. BTW, if i wanted a rabbit, i'd join a rabbit forum, so you can keep your smart comments to yourself. I read your post and it clearly implied the dog would be outside 99.9% of the time so I'm sorry but I'd NEVER sell you a puppy and know many others who feel the same way. I wasn't being smart, I was very serious with my suggestion of a rabbit...far better suited to hutch life outdoors.

Given that SBT is not suitable Maybe some people could make a suggestion of breeds like/similar characteristics of the SBT that would be a good starting point for the OP? I won't be because I don't think ANY dog should spend 100% of their time outside in the backyard

As (multiple!) people have been trying to point out - this is simply not true if OP buys a SBT. IMO this isn't about should "all" dogs be inside or outside dogs - it's about whether or not a SBT can be an outside dog as this is the breed OP stated they are interested in. Please remember that the OP did state that this breed was not offical yet and he was just asking a questions in general. I am sure he will do a bit mroe research into some other breeds. ...and people can only comment on the breed which the OP stated - which was the SBT

I'd never ever sell a puppy to a home where it was to be an outside dog only, that's MY choice as a breeder and I know many others who share that view. The people who have made comments not to your liking in this thread really only want the best for the breed, numerous Stafford breeders have stated they aren't suitable for 100% outdoor living - why disagree with someone who could (have) potentially sell you a puppy? They raise them, live with them and know the breed inside out... Take some time to think about why you really want a dog, if it's just because you want a dog and the kids should grow up with one maybe consider some rabbits or something else to be raised outside...
