-
Hope everything is ok CB and congrats to all the new arrivals
-
we'll be in the baby line-up together come March 20 those will be my little girls first shows (Novocastrian Ladies @ Hillsborough)!
-
Good luck CB - I have it all goes well for you and your girl...
-
I agree, I'd get her checked for peace of mind...
-
I gather then that she's prog tested? I'm sure all will be fine if this is 'normal' for her
-
Day 56 from first mating? If it were day 56 from first mating and you'd progesterone tested I'd be concerned, if it's day 56 from the first mating and you didn't progesterone test then I'd imagine she's probably on time and was mated a little later than she would have been if she'd been prog tested.

Yes I know of people who wait until the 12 week vaccination and puppies don't go home until after that time (they are chipped at that 2nd vaccination)... I don't believe there will be any issues
-
I'll be honest - a big reason I very rarely enter the Royal is due to the mass crowds and constant comments/questions. I like to sit down and enjoy a peaceful day out and that's really difficult at a Royal with so many people and so much going on. I've entered Sydney Royal this year, I've already started saving up my 'patience' and hope I can get through the day ETA: thought I should probably add that I have all the time in the world for the sensible people who come and ask if you have time to talk etc.

Do you have an update Kuma?
-
Young puppies tend to spend lots of time resting, it's normal
-
I'm confused - even if he's had a 'C5' that would have been at 10 weeks? Is that the only vaccination he's had? I agree with Pers - training in the yard is just as stimulating as a walk such a young puppy.
-
I'm not sure re the chucking - young puppies occassionally chuck and then hoover it all back up... 11 weeks is quite young to walking and I'd imagine he's only had the one vaccination at this point? Most puppies get plenty of exercise at that age playing at home until a bit older... How far are you walking him? If you insist on walking him, then I'd suggest a VERY short walk (I dont' suggest he be walked at all until 10 days after his 2nd vaccination) BEFORE you feed him (and only feed him once he's had an hour or so at home). Poocow - I've sent you a PM

All Breeds - I mostly see the catalogues done in alphabetical order by owners name. Specialty - For the most part catalogued with the eldest in the class through to the youngest.
-
That would depend entirely upon the breeder/exhibitor. For my part, my dogs are pets first and show dogs second. I would rather have happy, healthy, temperamentally sound pets that I can take to a dog show than have show dogs that I can't live with. +1

I am like you Aziah and its great to see your dog in there. But for you at the mo on top. :p ;) ;) Only reason I know is because I am following the whities. I've just gone to check, my young boy is currently ranked #2 Rising Star for Pembrokes...oh but he is #1 NSW Working Dog (by the skin of his teeth) I am like you Aziah and its great to see your dog in there. But for you at the mo on top. :D ;) Only reason I know is because I am following the whities. ;) ;) Thats what Jess and Jacquie do. They enter the pointscore just for us and anything else is a bonus.
-
slk - just so I can attempt to understand where you're coming from, can you tell me... * are you a pet owner, or do you exhibit/breed * do you know the amount of work that goes in to raising a show dog up to young adulthood entails * why do you feel that charging (for a young adult) the same as young puppy is 'greedy' I'm just trying to understand where you're coming from
-
That's very possible Max... I enter the pointscore for me, it's fun to enter results as we go and see how we end up Other people enter pointscores because for them, it's the be all and end all and they show week in/out and just HAVE to win.
-
Yep, corrent again... If someone is THAT desperate then I say go for it
-
Correct... Troy would have to rely on show secretaries reporting back with absentee numbers for every show, that's not going to happen and the amount of work it would generate for Troy and workers would be astronomical.
-
Sorry but I don't see what your vice is with the part bolded above...those older puppies have had even more work put into them than your average 8 week old and are most likely house trained (if not coming from a kennel environment) and very well mannered, full vaccinated etc. You're right - each to their own
-
If we decide to rehome an older dog it it generally for the cost of spay/neuter. Older puppies however are generally sold for the normal puppy purchase price. I agree with SP - I'd never advertise a dog for no cost at all...
-
Why do you want to have Audio as well as Video recording? I would assume so she would be able to hear (and perhaps later, prove) that the neighbours were taunting the dog, you know, calling it, making noises to make it bark at them etc.
-
I'm thinking not BUT had that exhibitor then gone on to show dogs in other classes, I wouldn't like ot be them after causing a stir!
