but it's only you're opinion that those dogs being beaten are of better quality - I thought I made it very clear that just because someone dislikes something or thinks something else is better, doesn't mean that is the case!
-
That's no worries Eridor, it's all up in the air, hope they can clarify you (and us)!

So NSW is different to ANKC?!
-
It doesn't matter the breed, whenever you get a 'mass' entry there will ALWAYS be a number of animals who lack something (whether that be poor hind angulation, poor temperament etc.)...you cannot expect to visit a breed National show and see a perfect entry! Get a grip, for the most part the breed is in good hands, dogs are awarded accordingly and as always personal preference plays a major part in what we as individuals like and dislike! Just because one person may find a particular feature in a dog unacceptable, that does not mean that it is the case...

Are you offering her several small meals rather than a few large ones? Also what are you feeding her, you might need to alter what you're feeding at the moment... Check the pups to see how hydrated they are, pinch (gently!) the skin on the neck and take note of whether it goes back to normal quickly or slowly or not at all if it's the latter two then you need to hydrate them. What about the bitch, apart from not eating well has she got a normal temperature, no lumps or hot spots along the mammary area and discharge...if she's got an infection then it could be the cause of her poor eating. By saying Mum is well, do you mean all the above things are normal and there are no issues apart from eating? I suggest that if things aren't improved in the next 24 hours after trying her on some BBQ chicken or something else tasty for a few meals then you need to get her and pups checked by your vet. Time is of great importance with young puppies...

More info please...how old are the puppies, were they born naturally or via c/section, how much milk has the bitch got, is there any sign of mastitis, has the bitch got a temperature higher than normal, any abnormal discharge? Are the pups well hydrated, are they quiet and content or noisy and unsettled? Is the bitch on antibiotics or has she been at some point leading up to or since the birth of the pups?

I have been living by this so far, we have been having picnics and yummy baked goods at most shows and having a really great time. Well I think so at least :D I missed one but we are still in the show ;) All these guys have done us extremely proud this year and it's only just getting into the busy season. Hope to continue on our winning ways in the middle part of the year. We have welcomed Clarkie to our fold as well with many thanks to SBT123 and Ashanali for their help and guidance with these two. Fwarkie has already won a RUIG and we are hoping for more now that he is finding his feet on some real green grass Love you Warls My trailer is being delivered today which will make life easier and much more fun. Now to sweet talk Aziah into sending me a WC(P) and we will be complete :) You've been having a good time  But I thought you said you didn't want a Pembroke you said you had the Swedish variety! I'm sure one could be arranged for you to play with if you need one

Today My Very First Showdog Became My Very First Ch

Congratulations! -
That's not what lilli was asking Oakway - the question was has anyone encountered issues with a dog being released (AFTER it has completed it's time in quarantine) due to a temperament problem (I assume that problem being human aggressive if not handled correctly)...

Woohoo!!!

New Dimmitrol- Contains Ivermectin!
Aziah replied to InspectorRex's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Sorry I'm confused, you say new type of Dimmitrol 'Daily' but the part in bold is for Dimmitrol Monthly Chews which I assume are given monthly not daily? -
You should have puppies or signs of labour by morning at this stage and I'd be off for a check tomorrow if you don't
-
Probably fed piss poor amounts over a period of time and then nothing at the latter end of it's days, wouldn't take long for an already emaciated dog to go down hill real quick once the food stopped completely. Poor dog, at peace now and owner got what he deserved...

That is why the breeder informed you.I gather you where given options ??? Your vet told you the breeder was nob & when infact the vet was a nob. We breed a litter where we ended up with 2 bad bites, never been an issue for us bfore & highly unexpected,we used a new dog who hand t produced in Oz before, the buyers upon the change where informed of what had happened, what the future would be & to think on it. Both cases they took the pup,1 the mouth came good the other didnt & required 2 teeth removed. They where fully aware & both where top lawyers. many vets have less expertise than a good breeder Azian We groomed a dog last week where the vet told them it would grow to be huge. The dog is 13 months, bottom of the height standard & will not grow anymore but will fill out. These people where concerned & ask us first before they where going to call the breeder & say who knows what. Seriously, some vets just have no idea, some are brilliant and worth their weight in gold, if you find a good one people, hang on to them!

My post must have been so different to Showdogs

How on earth is that time wasting? Obviously you are not aware of how many things can change from the time pups are born till they are ready to go. Be glad the breeder was honest with you. Allow me to suggest you need to go find the mythical breeders with the perfect puppy tree out in the back yard It seems that you have this vendetta against me, and honestly, there is no need to be sarcastic. I call it time wasting because the breeder waited until almost the last moment to tell me. I waited through two pregnancies from this particular bitch because, yes, I did want a pup out of her but it was not to be. I was only attempting to show the other side, but obviously you don't like the idea and try to shoot me down in flames. Yes, I am glad that the breeder was honest, and told her so but on my vet's advice I walked away. I did not knowlingly want to buy into a potential problem, and that's my perogative, but the bite would have been noticed before. Again on my vet's advice, and I should have been informed then. Sorry but I don't agree! Bites can change very rapidly, infact a friend had a litter and when they were vaccinated/vet checked etc and at the same time the breeder was assessing them herself everything was fine. Under 1 week later the bite had changed so I'm sorry but you're wrong and so is the vet!

Dry Shampoo For Dogs.
Aziah replied to spoilt lab lives here's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
A hot towel ruffed all over the coat will lift the dirt... -
I like showies, and I like breeders. That is why I get my dogs from registered breeders and that is why I am getting a show dog. I've had insanely good fortune with the breeders I have chosen. But for newbies entering the dog world, some breeders can be unfriendly, and some exhibitors can be unhelpful. Sorry, I should have said some in my previous posts. My bad. I understand Spotty and I'm glad you're going to enter the show world with your next baby ;) I will be armed with pamphlets, so watch out ETA: If you are getting a pup from Ashanali's next litter and are showing him/her then I will definitely see you around. No Pointer puppy for me but no doubt I'll see you around a show sometime :D pamplets and all

I know but I'm just trying to point out to people that just because a few people may have had a bad experience at a show with exhibitors not wanting to talk or being rude doesn't make us ALL that way It's tough reading stuff like that when I go out of my way to help people when I can and give them the info that they require... But you still need to think of it from a newby point of view too. While YOU might be willing to help, what happens to the person who just rocks up to a show and starts wandering around. They walk close to a dog and go to put their hand out and get snapped at, "Don't touch! We're about to go in the ring." and handler turns back to talk to whoever they were talking to before they were interrupted. So they walk up to a dog in a crate and they get snapped at, "Don't touch! The dog is protective of his crate." And the owner eyeballs them until they walk away. I have seen this happen so many times and I know that the exhibitors aren't at fault because they ARE doing the right thing for their dogs but the public also aren't at fault because they know no better and they are usually so put off from asking question after that so they no longer bother. It's intimidating being a person who has to try and initiate conversation with people when everyone else seems so familiar with each other. I KNOW that most people are willing to help as long as they aren't about to go into the ring but owners/breeders also need to look approachable or else the public will just walk past them and feel ignored. Yes, it takes two to tango and the public do need to put themselves out there and ask question because breeders aren't mind readers, I'm just pointing out how hard it can be for some. I honestly do see where you're coming from but surely asking before petting comes into place in both scenarios, that's something most people know? I think it's a great idea to encourage new people and those who want to research a particular breed, I think I'll print off some pamphlets to keep in my grooming box...if I'm not available to talk at the point someone comes to see me I can give them that and ask them to look and return when I'm done preparing or done in the ring There will always be a minority who don't welcome the GP or are rude but the majority can just push that bit harder to make them feel welcome
