Sticky Situation! Puppy Sold On Limited Register
Aziah replied to Partipaws's topic in Breeders Community
No but why on earth would you suggest reporting them (the puppy people that is who haven't done anything wrong, they were approached and haven't gone ahead) Weird... The OP just needs to phone them, have a brief chat and ensure the dog gets desexed, if there's a problem then she can talk to them further -

You don't know for sure though that the pet owners are going to be sucked in... Call them tonight, speak to them and offer to pay for his desexing at the earliest possible convenience (next week)!!! -

...and although it might not be worth the paper it's written on - get EVERYTHING in writing in future!!! AT least then, they would have had a piece of paper that you both signed stating the dog is a pet only, must not be bred from and must be desexed by a certain age. -

Offer to pay for the desexing? ETA: speak to them and enquire when he will be desexed and suggest it be done sooner rather than later (they certainly old enough to be done now)! -
How Does One Become A Registered Breeder?
Aziah replied to jackie_a1's topic in General Dog Discussion
They do win in the ring...the pups and their offspring do. The breeder, however, doesn't show her dogs. ETA, in fact one dog from this breeder was the first tailed Aussie to gain a championship title in Australia. It clearly states on your breeders website exactly how they feel about their definition of 'Showies' and that they themselves as breeders fit somewhere between 'Showies' and their definition of 'Backyarders' (as in back yard breeder)? ETA: I'm not having a dig at your breeder Gayle, but it's frustrating when people comment on the dog showing/breeding fraternity when they don't participate on a regular basis. -
Please Help. My Daughter Is Terrified Of Our Dog.
Aziah replied to boxerfamily's topic in General Dog Discussion
I think you should first attempt to get your daughter some help, if that fails then you'll need to re-home the puppy... If you don't try to get help for your daughter and rehome the puppy then you'll be left wondering what could have been? -
How Does One Become A Registered Breeder?
Aziah replied to jackie_a1's topic in General Dog Discussion
Do you continually make posts that imply a) you don't show your dogs and b) you don't think highly of many well respected breeders and exhibitors or am I simply imaging things??? No you don't HAVE to show but for MOST it comes part and parcel and before the actual breeding of dogs! -
...and perhaps they won't decide to show/compete or become involved in other programs, perhaps we'll have an array of people with MR dogs who can then do what they please with a dog and pedigree many breeders have worked their butts off for over the years! What a worrying post! We all want new people but it needs to be done the right way, protecting the new owners, breeder, puppy and pedigree...not by selling puppies on Main register willy nilly!
-
I've always explained it to potential puppy buyers, it's not hard to state that the puppy cannot be shown or bred from but can compete in performance events.
-
yes well we have def learnt our lesson. we only have emails to the breeder as he lives in another state. but emails dont hold up in court. No, I'm sorry things have turned out the way they have, you won't get caught again!
-
they paid $2500 for a staffy pup and told the breeder that they told the breeder they didnt know if they would but maybe in a year or two. after 6 months they decided to show and went to do it but got told they cant because its on LR they went to the breeder who said i only sell pups to pet homes. the owners of the staffy didnt know that they wouldnt be allowed to show. if they knew that they would of gone to a different breeder. Is the Stafford 'blue' in colour by any chance?

A harsh lesson - verbal contracts Even getting it all in writing can prove a waste of time but it's a darn sight better than a verbal agreement! Get everything in writing, as it stands, there's absolutely no point persuing this...what does your receipt say, any mention of upgrade to Main Registration at 12 months of age?
-
What do you mean people paying lots of money for pups and then finding out it's on Limited? Many breeders charge the same price ofr show/pet puppies so often the 'lots of money' is the same amount. Do these people actually tell you they set out to show and told the breeder that or that they simply didn't know?
-
Sandra, Dogs NSW now offer main with a no breeding resriction...
-
Did the contract state that the change would definitely be made or only if the dog had matured well enough to warrant the change to Main Register? NSW now offer Main Register with a contract that states the dog cannot be bred or shown from though that doesn't help you...I dont' see a problem with the Limit Register as it stands but I'm sorry you've had a hard time. I'm pretty sure there's an age limit on changing the register the dog is on and I'd assume it would have to be before 3 years of age???

I travelled (with 2 dogs) by air to our National in Adelaide at the age of 17 so you either want to go and make it happen or you don't!
-
No, you're right SBT123 but some people would be of the "can't get points, why bother" mentality rather than thinking of it as the usual day out and having a good time!

Congrats Bel, great results!
-
It's not about stopping clubs getting entries for ONE breed, well not IMO anway... For me it's about people who refuse to attend a breed Specialty/National show, if you won't take your dogs to a specialty to compete against mass numbers of your own breed then you shouldn't be awarded points at an AB's show on the same weekend!

Do You Allow A Puppy Person To Pick Their Pup?
Aziah replied to Stolzseinrotts's topic in Breeders Community
Stolz - same as you... -
IMO you have ample notice for a National Breed show, you make a decision quite early on as to whether or not you wish to spend the money and take your dogs to that show. You save hard to go, or you stay at home, no need to head off to a local AB's show, it's only ONE weekend out of an entire year (some Nationals like ours, bi-annually)...
-
But why would an AB's club want to move weekends for just ONE breed? Not having a go at you Megz just being realistic If people refuse to travel to a National (for whatever reason) then don't bother showing at all

I took this to mean that you will be mating her very soon - but now I'm thinking dropping her bum coat? Congrats Aziah - she is certainly very pretty ;) no no she's just dropping coat at a rate of knots! No babies for pretty Priah for a few years! Thanks Clyde
