  1. Is she near your other girl and within ear shot of the babies? 39.2 is the high end of normal just keep your eye on that...
  2. I'm not sure - in my area, Non-Sporting is generally one of the smallest groups number-wise so perhaps they put them last (if multi groups are being judged by the same judge) so they can get the bigger groups completed first? One guess is as good as another Most of the away weekends we do though I've noticed that the club rotates the order for a say, a 3 day show which I think is fair.
  3. ST - I like ours being every second year, adds to the excitement and anticipation and gives a good age gap to view the dogs coming through the classes (and their progeny)
  4. There was just an update on the OzShow list on Jane but I don't think I can repeat here can I without permission? It's all good news, positive anyway
  5. I know, we all have our opinions and beliefs
  6. It was simply a suggestion  perhaps when things settle down some, someone could check with a family member if they'd like some items (like beds and crates) kept on hand.
  7. My answer still remains oakway - no CC's Australia wide at any show other than the Breed National  It's not discriminating IMHO it just shows support and respect for that National show for ONE weekend of the year...
  8. Yes but she probably isn't going to feel like going out and making purchases in the beginning so to have a few crates and beds waiting there on stand-by would be a good option
  9. I think that's a really good idea, you're right, she will require those things...
  10. I wonder about those people not interested in (excluding those who cannot afford it) seeing a mass entry of their breed, why aren't you interested and why breed?
  11. Alright I'll be the mug who says it. What's so prestigious about a show that many of the owners of the breed can tell you who is going to win. Now don't say it doesn't happen it does. Many times I've opened the schedule and saw who was judging and knew who was going to win, again, don't say it doesn't happen it does. I attended a two day Specialty in April and I can tell you now the dogs that I thought might go up didn't necessarily, some did, some were well placed, as good dogs and bitches deserve to be. In classes of dogs and bitches of 20 plus, it is prestigous just to place and it is an absolute honour to be pulled out and placed on the pegs infront of your fellow breeders/exhibitors and alongside the very best the country has to offer. Even better when your dogs are right up there and winning. When 200 plus of the countries best dogs and bitches are gathered in one place, there shouldn't be any CC points on offer anywhere but there. It's a shame that some exhibitors can only see value in a few challenge points. The lack of CC points on offer appear to be the big sticking point in this discussion , for quite a few. I totally agree! Our National is fast approaching, some of the classes are going to be HOT, it will just be so fantastic to actually be there competing, seeing so many Cardis and Pems in the one place and having a fun weekend catching up with people from all over Australia. Even if I couldn't afford to go up with dogs, I'd make damn sure I was on a flight up there to sit ringside and take it all in!
  12. what breed of dog do you have?
  13. we'll be up for Saturday/Sunday shows so hope to see you (we have Corgis, come say hi)!
  14. So pleased you had a good day Lhok - are you going to visit the next show at Coffs Harbour (last weekend of this month)?
  15. They chose it, they knew it was on Limit register and a pet, it wasn't raised or treated any differently... For the most part I charge the same amount for pet/show potential puppies, many do!
  16. No no pink is good but it means you'll see them and won't forget to take 'em off!
  17. I'm about to head home but Jed - we are all rallying for you, Magnus has been sighted at your home and is waiting for you, you are so brave and strong and we know you'll come through this.
  18. The golf course opposite Janes needs to be notified incase anyone sees him. Does anyone know if this has been done otherwise ill do it now. We have alerted the local shops where Jane goes and will put something up on the community noticeboard tommorrow. Magnus used to often go for little trips to the cheesecake, he always made his way home again. I understad he will be upset and stressed, but I have faith he would stick close to home. Janes backyard is big, and it dips down with a river going through it and alot of scrub. He could be down in there too. Even if those of you heading out to look for Magnus don't see him, make sure you leave him a meal of some sort before you head back home...
  19. I reeeeeeeeally think that you should buy the most brightest pink that ever existed in a shower cap and continue using them ETA: bright pink = won't forget to remove them!
  20. I popped this in the news thread a while ago, you being an older member would remember this ritual so thought I would put it here and in Off Topic I'll be lighting my candle and raising my (several) glasses tonight...
  21. At 9.00pm tonight light a candle and raise a glass to support our 'Jed' in her hour of need and guide those beautiful canines who lost their lives in the early hours of this morning over Rainbow Bridge.
  22. Sounds like a good plan boxerfamily I hope it all works out but if it doesn't and you find yourself needing to rehome your puppy, get in contact with her breeder for help Good luck
