  1. Nekhbet, thanks - in what capacity?
  2. There's a difference between having a well adjusted, well trained elderly Rottweiler as opposed to a new Lab puppy...they didn't realise that he'd require so much time and they've been honest in realising he needs more than they can give him. Many thanks to everyone for their suggestions, very much appreciated and I'll pass all the information on.
  3. Thanks Perse - I'll pass on all the info from the thread, that's a good start
  4. Very long story short... Good friends of ours had a Rottweiler until age took him, wonderful dog...several months after his passing they decided to get a Lab puppy (didn't check with me, not from a registered breeder and not a breed they were prepared for). He's out of control, they don't have the time to spend with him and he's completely destroyed their queensland room and they have admitted they do not have the time for him (or another dog) and how would they go about re-homing him. He's a 9 month old entire black Lab, full of energy... Apart from advertising him in the local paper are there other options? He either needs a very active family with loads of time to spend with him or some sort performance based home?
  5. I'm going to guess you'll have babies by morning
  6. Dropped one of my girls off to the surgery this morning to be spayed, phone call a couple of hours ago to say she's great... I'm sure your boy will be fine
  7. I used to but now I'm feeding raw I don't feed any dry at all... Have you got babies in the making Norsk?
  8. it's not uncommon for bitches who do not feel safe and secure to eat their whelps
  9. Co-ownership - can mean a myriad of different things depending on the agreement you make with the breeder. Briefly, it means that both you and the breeder own the dog on it's registration papers. If you go down this co-own path please ensure you get EVERYTHING in writing no matter how small the detail Firstly you need to become a member of your state canine council such as Dogs NSW or CCCQ as examples. Secondly you require a dog on the Main Register (NOT Limited Register) that is of 'show potential'. Once of age (puppy must be 3 months old before it can be entered in a show) you can look through your state journel/gazette for shows you wish to attend, fill in entry form send off etc. Tidy attire - pants and a shirt or skirt and shirt and add a jacket if you wish...
  10. I've just raised a litter of 8 on totally raw and when I took them for vaccination the other day my vet was in awe :D they look amazing and I'm thrilled to bits with them. Previously I have switched puppies I am keeping on to raw at 8 weeks and they've adjusted and grown on beautifully without any issues.
  11. This isn't the puppy that the owners were approached by another breeder about using at stud is it? Dogs NSW offer a Main Register but no breeding contract, link below... Dogs NSW Non-Breeding Agreement
  12. We have lost the Ruby girl. RIP my little Mia. Lele has settled down a bit now with the four currently feeding, she seems to be more relax now that Mia has been removed. My breeder friend has paid me a visit today and has been on the phone alot. She has been wonderful and very supportive in this distressive time. I'm sorry you lost the little girl but I do feel she was most likely the cause of Lele's distress and unsettled behaviour...I hope things only improve from here on in for you.
  13. We drove past (to collect our Chinese) and there's no way in hell I'd have been out in it showing Lots of flooding in surrounding suburbs and more rain on the way...the winds chuffing now at about 20 knots, utterly horrible! I told Cuebiyar I'd head out and handle for her but if the remains the way it is I won't be leaving the house!
  14. I hope everything is ok CB, thinking of you.
  15. I agree with everything persephone has said... Our dogs sleep in the house, I know where they are, I know they aren't barking and they have a routine and sleep when the rest of the house does ETA: at 6 months of age, your puppy should have no problems going through the night without a toilet stop.
  16. Can you tube feed? Even bottle feeding now could help you in this situation... So sorry to hear of your struggle
  17. Thanks again to everyone for your congrats
