Are you implying you want/expect to make money out of this proposed venture...it sure reads that way!
-
Yeah, you know she never once rejected him, always had him close to her side, under her wing, cleaned him and let him nuzzle her. Strangely last night and this morning she was madly scratching at the Vetbed, like digging. Did she know he was dying and was trying to prepare a place to "hide" him? Or more likely hide him from me taking him all the time. I'm sorry for your loss LizT... More than likely she was very aware of his condition and in those last stages she was doing what she knew best. I had a similar experience, they know...

I'd withhold food (not water) for 24 hours and if its still happening tomorrow, head to the vet. It is not recommended one worms puppies who are showing signs of an illness . Dragging her bum could have simply been that her anus is sore/irritated from diarrhoea..and she is trying to clean/soothe it! Please do not withhold water- but do not feed her today .. Then, IF SHE IMPROVES... offer SMALL amounts of boiled rice/chicken breast for a few days..gradually working back to her normal food .ANY MORE diarrhoea- and it's off to the vet . keep in touch with your vet- dehydration is nasty I expect it will make her stomach upset worse. Worming tablets are hard on the gut. Just give water - and lots of it until tomorrow. At the first signs of lethargy or depression or if you spot any blood in her diarrohea I'd be making that two hour drip. Follow advice above, but as mentioned if there's no improvement or her condition worses see the vet immediently. I hope she's well again soon...

Good luck I hope it's everything you want and more!

...and incase you cannot get help between now and then and sort it out, should it escalate, ensure you have a muzzle on hand if you need to assist with the whelping.

awesome debut, congratulations!

Woohoo what a wonderful win for you and your girl, huge congrats, well deserved! Good luck in Melbourne and have a wonderful, fun time

Good luck LizT I hope it all goes nicely for you and your girl

Of course everyone needs to take responsibility for their own dogs and not leave them unattended but that SHOULD be a given! However the public shouldn't have such easy access to the exibits either...
-
No they don't - I'd rather not have the public there at all ETA: in the grandstands for the public but no where near the pavillions.

Very true FHRP. If you really want a surefire "show prospect", best buy an adult dog! I guess that's true in most repspects but I really feel that if you find the right breeder, are open and honest about what you want then they should be able to select a baby for you meeting that early criteria and all going well, mature into what you wanted. No dog is perfect, we strive to improve all the time...

Not so much personality, I like sound temperments on all my puppies though their personalities differ and I take that into account when placing pet puppies. A good friend wanted a bitch puppy from my last litter (to show) and I knew she needed a puppy of show potential but with a very easy going temperament...I was watching 3 (of 5) bitch puppies at the time and when it came time to make final decisions between the 3 I sent her the most easy going girl and I have kept the other 2 (who, mind you, are like chalk and cheese but I like them each in their own right). She's happy with her baby, tells me how easy going she is and is having fun in the ring and I'm happy with the two I have kept - a win all round in this particular situation!

What PF said I make my first assessment when they are 'wet' and again at 8 weeks of age...

I hope Harry is returned safely and soon...this should never happen and I hope actions are taken to prevent it happening again

My bugbears: squeaky toys, uncontrolled whiney/noisy dogs! Doesn't bother my own dogs, they're too focused on me but it annoys the heck out me... I 'chuck' bait but only into MY dogs mouth, if it misses it gets picked up

Ticks In Windsor, Colo Heights, Wilberforce Area Of Nsw
Aziah replied to bark's topic in General Dog Discussion
I'd certainly be using a spot-on IN conjunction with a tick collar in the areas you've mentioned especially given you'll be bush walking. -
Me too please!

An incorrect bite is a reasonably major fault in my opinion, it's not like you're taking a dog into the ring that might be slightly long in foreface or the like. Many judges, breeders etc are unforgiving of an incorrect bite.

Perhaps post the name of the country Ag show you're talking about and someone here might be willing to let her handle one of their dogs if they require a hand? I agree that you shouldn't enter or exhibit your current dog with a faulty mouth.
-
You could always take another route and use a 'natural disaster' realted theme?
-
One would think so hey PM

Too many 'hopefully' and unknowns for my liking...poor puppy. Might be time to start educating yourself (not via the vet or a petshop). I hope the puppy is on the mend.

Agree with those who've suggested constant, daily exercise... Also try filling a couple of clam shells with sand for her to dig in, that way she gets to dig but where you want her to?
