Have you tried giving her to a confident junior handler or exhibitor? It could be that she doesn't want to show for you (and that's nothing against you...some dogs can be that way)!

Providing it's healed nicely, a small patch of hair missing shouldn't be a problem.

I guess if you want to breed a litter then are the resulting puppy owners going to want to do the same for the same reasons you gave? I think if you want to breed you need to be passionate about improving the breed, not just breed a litter because you want to. I feel strongly that you should desex your bitch and if you want another pup, buy one from the same breeder and refer your friends in the same direction when they decide they want a pup. ETA: if you want to experience a litter ask the breeder of your girl if you could be present for one of her own whelpings. It's not all rainbows and butterflies, it can be gut wrenching, it can be very expensive and for the reason you gave as to why you want to breed, I really don't think you should.

My skin is thick enough. Clear breach of forum rules but I'm not going to report it. Never ceases to amaze me how folk who are quick to trot out accusations about others being the DOL hard arses are often the first to stick the boot in with a personal attack. Yet they believe themselves to be the nice guys around here. I've got some PMs from a few over the years that would curl your hair with the vitriol they've spewed. Given you've just told us you've been a member of this forum for "several" years then one would assume you'd be very aware that you would receive the reponse that you have throughout this thread? You did say you couldn't see a problem with doing it (even though you haven't) and that's just as bad as doing it! I didn't accuse you of being a troll - I suggested it's 'almost trolling'... Obviously I'm not Rebanne but I am a smoker and I can assure you I've never smoked in a non-smoking area, be that outside in a theme park (recent trip to Disneyland saw us heading to the designated areas) or inside a motel room. What a stupid thread, no doubt the OP set out to get a bite...almost trolling :rolleyes:

No one is confusing two issues they are one and the same - sneaking your dog into a room (knowing that motel management don't allow it) regardless of how clean the dog is or how much (or little) hair it drops is WRONG... AND for anyone thinking it's ok but hasn't done it - you're just as bad! It is so very difficult these days to find a motel that will even take a car/trailer without having dogs in a room (illegally).

I agree, see another vet AND ensure she's kept quiet (minimal visitors and certainly no visiting dogs)...

Several things to consider and a big one for me would be what sort of climate is she coming from because she's going to be walking into an inferno here at that time of year...I'd avoid importing any dog at that time of year unless there was no other option let alone a bitch in whelp. On a personal level I'd never bring in a bitch knowing she'd be whelping in quarantine...

My last litter were raised soley on RAW... I also make my own yoghurt as I find the babies do very well on it.
