  1. Yes thats correct. I was concerned because the existing dog was not properly socialised with other dogs. But the whole point of getting a second dog was to keep him company so i was praying it would work for the better. I could be subconsciously doing it, but i think unlikely because during the first encounter, he saw the puppy a couple of seconds before i did and charged straight at it before i had time to react. Sounds kinda weird but i was focusing on taking him out of the gate and didn't expect the puppy to appear that quickly whereas he saw it straight away. The funny thing is that even now, they are getting along fine, running around together and playing with the toys together but its those sudden moments when my older dogs had enough that worries me. The older dog stands behind the puppy when they are together to make sure he isn't doing anything wrong, he really is trying to be the big brother. The puppy snapped at the older dog this morning and got a chase for it but no aggression from the older dog. Ok so don't leave them together all the time (it reads as if you are?)...allow them to have a successful playtime and then seperate them for a period of time and so on ETA: once you see that the older dog has had enough then you can step in and put the puppy away for a rest.
  2. Yep that's fine and yes it can be done however given you're having issues with simple introduction I think you need to be aware you could have problems down the track. I'm NOT picking on you (before anyone decides that's the case) but if all is as it seems there should be no problems. You've introduced them, now put the puppy in a pen for a while so he's not terrorising the older male, space, respect and time.
  3. I notice that you had another thread elsewhere and expressed concerns before you even brought your new puppy home about introductions etc. Is there a reason you were concerned (ie. existing dog not social etc.)... I'm asking because I'm concerned that you might have had a mind-set that introduction was going to be a problem well before time and now you might be cueing problems (subconsciously)?
  4. Although what you're experiencing now probably isn't gender related are you prepared for the fact that it might be later on? What made you go out and get another male rather than a female?
  5. I don't know, I've never looked...I will look
  6. They've added it on to the back of the Limited Registration Certificate of Pedigree (no seperate form anymore)

    Puppy Crying

Keep him busy, stuffed kong, a meaty bone while you're not in sight? Sure, he'll be missing his group environment but it won't take long...when I raise a litter I ensure they've had time alone, they sleep seperately at night and this makes it so much easier for when they head off to their new home.
  10. I think you should revert back to basics; crate her, dont' allow her to roam the house, take away the opportunities to pee on carpet etc.
  11. Thanks so much for all the replies!
  12. 30 including prefix and spaces
  13. Yes, Ben @ Wigglebum has a new baby but there used to be several vendors for general use stuff (brushes, leads, chalk etc) and now there are mostly none!
  14. guys, I haven't been able to play with the new camera much so I was really happy with this pic Ever is a bit of a wild child...this was one of her more sensible moments
  15. I've been waiting for Miss Ever to coat up again...took this pic of her on Saturday (11 months old), I think it's a bit special
  16. Often there are vendors that specialise in bedding and grooming products but there does to seem to be a lack of vendors with leads etc.
  17. The Luscious Lead I bought off RSG arrived today and it is GORGEOUS :D
  18. Lucky huh Bulladellah closed last week and it's in that journal ETA: No, I don't have mine yet either! I see your point 2ps and I guess there were some problems getting the Bulahdelah schedule into an earlier gazette but at least the online journal was online early enough for those who access it. Don't know why there's such a delay for the November journal arriving...they'd been getting them out pretty promptly previous to this month See you next weekend
  19. I've never been allergic to dogs before. I've also never been near a dog which sheds this much. Miley has a normal coat and when I hug and pat her I don't get a hand full of fur each time. She also doesn't sneeze all over my face. If it's the saliva causing the allergy, then it could be from Ollie sneezing on me (he sneezes as a sign of affection). Anyhoo, I won't be re-homing him unless all other avenues fail. Finger crossed I can sort this out. If it is the Pug that you're allergic too it won't be because he 'sheds so much' - it will be an allergin that is unique to his skin/coat. Great news that you're booked in to the Dr with yourself and your son
  20. I have read many articles and several suggest that ticks can live for many months without a host (so most certainly could survive on bedding). My recommendation would be to stop the swimming for now, dip her in a solution of Fidos Fre-Itch Concentrate (made up to the directions) every 3 days, continue the Proban and change her bedding on a regular basis.
  21. Currently having a very hard time getting hold of Wella Kolestral cream (don't like the other Queen Helena one). Does anyone else use something other than the above that they find just as good (or even better) that is readily available? PM me if you prefer, need to get this sorted ASAP
  22. :D People who google for images without checking what's on the page look like this. I think they'd be disqualified from the showring - doesnt really fit the standard...The colour is all wrong http://thisactuallyhappened.typepad.com/.a...2f3d3970b-800wi
