Whilst the decision was difficult and upsetting I feel you have made the right choice for Harper and I am sure his new family will offer him a wonderful home

I've not seen to that degree however the backward tilt is often referred to as "Pixie Ears"... You can tape them now to help them out.

Below is a photo fo a dewclaw and I am sure your Lab puppy would have them (inside of each front leg).

mirawee - I think most other states allow membership before dog

Yes they can but they shouldn't be and anyone who's looking at getting a show potential pup should at least read the standard and be aware that blue doesn't fit! I hope that anyone buying a show potential puppy would make a sensible purchase and have a responsible and reliable breeder as a mentor... Just because they can be shown doesn't mean they should be!

I specifically asked DogsSA whether I should do this when I registered Akira, and they said there was no need. They said it's much quicker to send them both in together, which was what I did, and I had back both my membership and Akira's registration on Thursday when I had only sent it on Monday evening. DogsSA have a really quick turnover rate, which is fantastic. Even better then

I think you should join Dogs SA first and send in the transfer once you are a member

The best advice GayleK is for one to ignore any advice or opinions they don't like...don't become bitter and twisted over the little things! Dog shows, like life, contain content that's both positive and negative, if one cannot handle that and move on from any upsetting or annoying situations then it's probably not the hobby for such a person. The ideal exhibitor presents and handles each dog to it's best advantage, shows courtesy to the steward, judge and fellow exhibitors by being organised and accepts the decision on the day. Yes but often the people who are handing it out, invited or not, do actually know what they are talking about and it's the owner who doesn't want to hear it and is often too blind to see it for themselves. I don't know how many people have run around poor examples of their breed, not groomed correctly, handled poorly and get all bitter and twisted when it doesn't win. Everyone else can see it, judges included, except for them. Oh of course, happens all the time, see it all the time...

Don't The Rules Apply To You Or Something?

No different to the people who persist to sneak dogs into cabins when there are signs clearly displayed inside stating no dogs allowed...ruin it for the world!
