“is It Time To Introduce A Spitz Group In Australia?”.
Aziah replied to Bjelkier's topic in General Dog Discussion
From what I can see, pembrokes aren't in the Spitz group under FCI http://www.fci.be/nomenclature.aspx No they aren't, but if you're going to create a Spitz group here then you'd include all the breeds classified as Spitz (ie. those already able to compete at thr Spitz breed clubs) hence my answer of no. -

I voted no...whilst the Pembroke is classified as a Spitz breed and competes at the Spitz Breed Club shows they are a Working Dog, a herder and I feel that is where they belong. -
Can anyone recommend or just suggest any pet friendly (dogs don't need to be inside rooms) accommodation for one night in Goulburn?
-
Whoops sorry
-
I believe the entries are closed now eventingpony.

Can anyone recommend an export company in Norway (preferably from those of you who have personally used the company). Many thanks,

I often worry over my almost 14 year old boy... Logic tells me that he's getting on now and I can recognise that and what comes with it but my heart says he'll never leave (and I guess, in part, that's quite true). He's happy, healthy (touchwood) and enjoys life and that's all I can hope for

I agree with everything you have said bar the bit about offering the dog back - too bad if they call her bluff... Just politely tell them you'll contact them from time to time but when you're ready. Be upfront and assertive - this is your dog now.
-
Her problems are NOT your problems, you own the dog, their visits must only ever be on your terms - not theirs! I'm sorry, but allowing yourself to be emotionally blackmailed by this woman isn't doing yourself or YOUR dog any good. Tell her you will contact her when you feel a meeting is suitable sometime in the future.
-
I agree with Rysup and once you've told them this, make it clear that you will contact them (not them contacting you) when you feel the time is right for a meeting in a public place. She is your dog now and you need to be firm with them and ensure they understand your position.

Have you had dogs with vaccine side affects previously or???
-
Did the breeders siet consist of raw and dry?
-
There's only one outcome in my mind (even if it did come down in the coming months he'd never be considered as a stud dog in my mind because I feel it's abnormal for a testicle to take so long to come down and stay down). Sorry

Here you go Paptactular! (from the Dogs NT rules/regs)...
-
I wasn't aware there was such a ruling.... would that be ANKC or a state thing? Will have to search through the DogsNT rulings. Regardless of the ruling (and EF - I am sure I have read that somewhere too) you shouldn't show a non-entire dog.
-
Some judges do 'forgive' non-entire baby puppy dogs but at 6 months of age they'll simply tell you he's not entire and not place or dismiss you from the ring. "Male animals should have two apparently normal testicles fully descended into the scrotum."

I don't think it's going to happen do you show him or?
-
No, exhibit must be entered in a general class. Thanks everyone for the quick replies...I needed them as enteries to the shows close on Monday So in regards to sweepstakes I HAVE TOO enter him in class 1 in order to enter him in the sweepstake too? But, if he's not up for class 1 (not liking being at/doing show) after the sweepstake (it's the first of the day at 8:30am before classes)I don't have to do class 1 even if I have paid for it? Yes it will be his first show. He's a SBT who will turn 4 months old the day of the show. I'm trying to get him into some show training classes to help him (and me...mainly me ) He's a VERY friendly pup that I'm hoping the classes will teach me how to keep his attention...ANYONE that comes within 2 metres must want to pat him, in his eyes anyway Yes, must be entered in Class 1 (Baby Puppy Dog) before he can be entered in 3-6 months Sweepstakes. I believe you can withdraw him from his breed class should you feel he's had enough by then after competing in Sweepstakes.

Yes really. Babies don't need powder, spray or any product. They need to be trained to stand still and enjoy being groomed, they need to get used to their feet and ears being trimmed. They don't need product through their coat though. And I take my grooming tips from the top Aussie breeders in the state. There are plenty of ways to get a puppy used to being chalked without using chalk. Rub thier leg gently, back comb the hair on their paws. Use a water spray bottle sparingly on them to get used to the sound, but puppy fur and skin don't need anything extra. Well then, you may as well use the chalk - it has a purpose... Anyway you have always had very different ideas about dog shows so I feel it's important the OP gets a varied opinion

MOST people start off grooming their baby puppy as it will be groomed as an adult.

I don't agree but everyone will have their own opinion Can the 2nd one be located?

10 weeks is the limit here and in a Toy breed I think it's fair to say that it's not going to happen now at almost 6 months of age, sorry

Sweepstakes, if used wisely can be a wonderful training tool for baby puppies Will this be his first show? If so then no, don't over do it...you don't want him to become sour.
