  1. *snort* Do we REALLY need another conformation title? How about this as a radical idea. No further titles or higher titles on any dog that hasn't produced the goods in the whelping box. If a "Supreme Grand" Champion had to produce a minium of 4 titled dogs, it might shake things up a bit. Whilst I agree that a higher title like that should require the dog to have produced the goods it does stand to create a problem... It is VERY rare that I would ever breed a bitch more than once; I try to get it right the first time. I don't often run on more than one or two puppies, I don't often allow puppies out into show homes. Whilst a previous litter produced 4 Champions (from her one and only litter), it's more common for it to be 1 or 2. I'm not going to then go and breed a bitch a second time for the sake of a title? Then for bitches we set the numbers lower. Why didn't I think of that?

  3. I am not opposed to neutering in general - I recommend that most people desex their dogs and have convinced plenty to do so and it has been the right decision for them. That said, I have known a few dogs well that experienced strong changes to their personality post-neutering - and they're not changes I would find desirable. He performs well at training, doesn't try to run away, doesn't have any DA or HA and so I'm not sure that neutering is required. He does not mark anything we don't want him to, not at all whilst on-lead with the obvious exception of peeing 3 times on men that I have had issues with. I think the problem here is likely a combination of me, lack of supervision and absence of undesirable consequences, not his balls. You having "issues" with the men who were peed on does NOT make it ok... This thread is
  4. Why didn't they "look for it somewhere else" when was under initially? I'd be reluctant to to put him under again anytime soon.
  5. What day are Working Dogs being judged please?
  6. Wow what a huge litter, congratulations to you and Alice and sorry for the little ones lost. I hope they thrive and you enjoy them
  7. Congratulations on the positive ultrasound I don't know much about Cavs but I have to say I think your Sunni has the most exquisite head & expression
  8. Are they both desexed?
  9. Not necessarily this thread, but I take your point. School holidays ATM I think that contributes. What annoys me is when someone comes and asks a question and gets ample answers and usually all along the same lines and then continues to go on and on and on about something rather than just getting on with carrying out the advice that was given. I have zero patience today so probably better I don't continue The OP has been given great advice but I do agree with Pav Lova and I think it was Poodlemum.
  10. Don't feed her lunch then tea if you feel you need to feed 2 meals a day then feed breakfast and tea (no lunch). Get a decent dry food and feed that along with raw meaty bones.
  11. I have had this happen, though is wasn't what I would call a normal season and she only showed signs for a week...she didn't come back in again for another 6 months and returned to normal cycling. Play it safe and keep her seperated from the dogs.
  12. I think you'll be hard pressed to find accommodation this late in the game... We booked last year and were told that we were lucky as they only had one or two rooms left!
  13. I'm not sure if it's common practice but I have a clause where I need to agree to puppies going into show/breeding homes - I don't want my breeding going to every tom, dick and harry.
  14. But in this case the dog Tris is using does come under agreement so she's asking for help preparing.
  15. PS - if you sign a stud agreement that states no more than 2 puppies on main register then really, there's no room for you to negotiate that point. If you have it written so that it allows for further assessment at 8 weeks to determine if more than 2 puppies will be main registered you stand a better chance.
  16. You risk personal preference stopping more than 2 puppies entering the showring if they are worthy (ie. you might feel a 3rd or 4th is worthy and the stud owner may not).
  17. Not in my experience thus far...3 daughters and none of them with progesterone issues when they were eventually bred.
  18. Useless people I am so sorry for your loss Fordogs
  19. I don't know why you're having issues with this? Fill in the entry for the dog and any others with all the approriate info, then click confirm, the next screen will ask you for YOUR member number, address, name etc. Fill it in, her exhibit number will be set along with any other dog you entered to your address.
