In addition, many breeders don't register their litters until 8 weeks of age and it can then be 10 working days or more for Dogs NSW to process that registration so your comment regarding the long period between your pup being determined and actual registration is very simply explained. I guess you have to expect that people will defend a breeder who has done nothing at all wrong when your posts come across as rather displeased with a situation that is perfectly normal.

At a guess I would say the majority of pet puppies sold in NSW remain registered with Dogs NSW in the breeders name as most owners don't bother changing that once they have the microchip ownership changed. No big deal at all...

2 out of 3 of the bitches I have bred to frozen have been maidens. #1 - 3 years old, 7 pups #2 - 4 years old, 4 pups I prefer to put my maidens to frozen and many repros will tell you hat they prefer them too.

Great to see common sense prevail and you need to stay positive and not allow all those negative thoughts to keep coming up. She will be fine. I hope you aren't implying that my common sense was lacking! I was going on vet advice. I think it was the repro vets at Monash that insisted she be desexed. Plus my vets sort advice from some American vet forum. It really was not an easy decision for them to make. Oh dear do you always take everything so personally? You had already posted several times it was a specialist vet who d isn't want her spayed so of course the common sense comment was directed at those who eventually made the decision she should be!

It is the specialist who said not to spey her unless it was an emergency. Yes and I'd be speaking with them again and asking if they are truly happy with that decision should she end up with a reoccurence and pyo and having to go under then - I wouldn't be. It was after an infection that the convo was had. Not sure you fully understand the situation. I might not but I am speaking from experience.

I guess you should also be looking into what you personally can offer the dog rather than trying to find a kennel or another individual to do the work for you. Sort of defeats the purpose of having said dog if you can't give it the time it needs.

The biggest issue now that she has presented with this is that the likely hood of it happening again is quite high. You might not be so lucky next time... I'd defintely be considering speaking to her specialist about speying when she is well again as having to go in to spey when it's an emergency in an already compromised dog is quite a scary option!

I wouldn't be having her done at 6 months - wait at least until she's 9 months or more.

If she is a healthy weight for her size then there is little you can do if she is on the smaller size of the breed standard.

Leave her to do/go wherever she feels comfortable while you are vacuuming and ignore her behaviour.

The Stafford breed standard doesn't call for "beautiful" as far as I am aware? Definitely attend some shows and find yourself a mentor within in the breed.

Breeders in QLD generally wait until all pups are sold before registering a litter as they regoster straight in to new owners name...ring them and ask if they have done it?

I have "initial enquiries via email are welcome" on my DOL listing yet the amount of phone calls and texts I receive is amazing. I had one rude woman call the other day (and by chance I answered; I don't often answered numbers not familiar to me) and she said "I've b een trying to get hold of you, did you receive my messages?". I responded that I don't have voice mail so no I had not received her messages. "They were text messages, you must have". Oh yes I did! I don't respond to puppy enquiries via text, please email me as requested in my listing! "Well it would have been polite to know"...bye bye lady! I prefer emails and I will always respond within a day or so.

I often feel when reading your posts that you are over analysing some normal dog behaviours? At home, I expect small scuffles, growls and snaps over toys and food, that to me is how animals communicate about what is acceptable in their little relationships. I do however understand that you have concerns over the impending arrival of your baby. The bonus right now is that you have seen these behaviours prior to the baby arriving and prior to the baby being on the receiving end. So... is she aggressive or is she...normal?

I agree with HW... Also, when you do take the time off work, make sure you don't spend every waking hour with him before returning to work. Use that time to practice healthy separation :)
