I know the feeling i know where i want to get my next puppy from just need to wait for my surgery to be done before i can get one, i hate being responsible some times
-
the best one that has out lasted my Stafford's has been the Bumi Tug I got mine from The Wolfs den.
-
Maybe start agin with a different item then move on to the glove
-
I back chained 'pick it up' so i started with giving the item to them holding mu hand under the jaw so they had to hold it for a moment getting a longer hold give hold give back then pick it up and give
-
LoL I get it, I'll be having brain surgery at some point in the next few months so I'm still teaching them thing to keep them occupied Our new one is she had learnt to play tug by herself we have a hanging tug out the back and when she is a bit feisty I can send her to play tug. You just need to think outside of the box and you will be fine

I completely understand where you are coming from, at times during my illness I've wondered weather I should send my girl back to her breeder because I feel I'm not doing her justice. But you can get there in small steps something as simple as playing fetch down a hallway will bun off some energy ( I used to sit on my ass at one end while they ran up and back) but my saving grace has been giving the dogs jobs to do, I know you can't train them right now but before you go in next time maybe teach them to bring you items like slippers, remote, books etc or tricks like taking your socks off and closing cubbord doors so you can get their brains working while you are laid up. I hope you are feeling better soon

Wow im glad you didn't get a puppy from them, contact puglvr above iv heard nothing but great things about the pug club of Vic. i hope your next experience is much better :)
-
Wow you really have yourself in a spot of bother, Im not a breeder so i cant give you any Whelping advice but i am in the same breed. My advice, Contact your breeder Immediately! before they hear from someone else, cop the crap that they may throw at you then if they are good breeders the help that would follow. You are bringing more pups in to a market that is flooded with both ANKC and BYB examples of the breed and really dose not need any more, you will struggle to find Good homes (your breeder may be able to help you here) i know pups that are waiting for their forever homes just because they are the wrong gender. Desex the pups before they leave so your opps doesn't pass down the line. If you are not going to show your dogs Desex both or one of them also or fix your ability to keep them apart so it doesn't happen again. Good luck i hope your girl comes though this ok but the pups are going to be a huge drain on what is essentially a puppy herself.

Hmmm that would be the one YOU sent me LoL Snake mesh would be a good idea just be aware young puppie toes could get caught in it when jumping up to look out the gaps :)
-
Sounds great however my 2 dogs would climb that fence in no time, if you want them to see you need vertical so they can't climb it or fully enclosed so they can't climb at all
-
I'll keep looking thanks though :)

Thanks Esky, perfect but probably a little more then i anticipated would have been great to get out there with the kids and go to and from the shop on. Let me know if here of a second hand one come up, they may be more in my price range.

idigadog, where do you get the 'scooters' from? iv been trying to google them but don't know the correct term so have come up empty, one of those would be quite handy here for a multitude of things.
-
Mine are crated at night and when no one is home (max couple hrs every few days) when at dog training, trials and shows when we go and visit someones house so they are comfy in there own beds. the rest of the time the crates are open for free access and i often find them snuggled up eta; they do have one each but they like to snuggle when they can :D

What's The Worst Reaction Somebody Has Had To You Dog?
Rainy replied to dididog's topic in General Dog Discussion
Out of curiosity what has this ^ got to do with it? Obviously a generalisation as I have a Muslim friend who also loves dogs but many are often not accustom to dogs as pets and come from countries where they are more commonly strays/working dogs and therefore seen as unhygenic or dangerous. There is also a stipulation in the Quran that if a dog were to lick you you must clean the area 7 times (something along those lines at least) and I believe there is something else about dogs being kept for reasons other than work and service being a negative thing. This is just something I've heard my Muslim friends tell me when I've asked why. Most of the immigrants in my area have moved here relatively recently and so are not used to seeing pet dogs so I am more than understanding of why they react the way they do. Conversely I am sure their are plenty of Muslims who love dogs and plenty of non-Muslims who hate dogs, I'm just considering the factors that may be the reason. No i wasn't implying anything just curious, i haven't had an issue with any one like this however we don't see newer immigrants here often. -
What's The Worst Reaction Somebody Has Had To You Dog?

Yep get horrible reactions regularly ( i have Stafford's ) from similar to you to a person telling me i owned baby killers and they should be shot immediately. Out of curiosity what has this ^ got to do with it? -
Gone but not forgotten your legacy lives on to remind us just how special you were xo

Just want to clarify is this the same person that is organising the tracking workshop for mid May or some one else? -
Id say it depends on your relationship with the original breeder, if you have only been friendly with them to purchase a puppy they may take it badly however if it has been more of a mentoring type relationship they should be able to accept that you have developed your own 'type' in that breed and are looking for a pup to suit your 'type' not theirs. iykwim

Thanks all, my main concern is the other dog has never been a single dog.
-
New Question Just thinking, is it better for other dog in the house to see the PTS dog once it has passed away or not?
