Poor baby. Best of luck with little Mia.

I've seen them at IGA stores in Brisbane, in the freezer section next to chicken nuggets and meatballs. I think they look ridiculous

Option 2 would be preferable but will end up costing somewhere in the vicinity of around $300 more to do it that way. I was lucky when I adopted my girl Luna (in my sig) from the pound, they agreed to release her to me for nothing - all I had to do was sign a stat dec saying that I would desex her at my own cost. It was under special circumstances though. If you go with Option 1, can the pound guarantee you that you'll get the dog in three weeks time? ie they are not going to PTS if they get full in the meantime, or rehome her elsewhere?

Prefix Search Australia Wide Www.prefixsearch.com.au

Siberian Husky Zenaida Brisvoskies Aussiewolf Eukanmanuva Keeaire Timbermoon Wolfsong Wolfpack Sledog Snowstars Alanaleigh Also, just a question - I know this site is intended for Aussie breeders to see if a prefix is taken, but what about those that are registered internationally? Do the Australian canine organisations also protect international prefixes? -
Sorry to hear that RIP Pindi

Erm, no. Every now and again Hills will give away a free mug or a pair of slippers with any purchase of Science Diet or Prescription Diet. Not something I'd consider a kickback for the clinic, all that free merch goes straight to the client.

Big thanks to Seita, Steve and Camp Tailwaggers for a fantastic workshop In the days leading up to the aggression workshop, my OH had been asking me, "Do we really have to go?" but afterwards he was absolutely buzzing about how much we had learnt. We're now wishing we'd stayed for the whole weekend!! And it was great to meet all you DOL'ers, everyone was as lovely and friendly as I had expected. Can't wait for the next workshop Steve, we will definately be there

Please explain what these kickbacks are, maybe our clinic can arrange to get some of them. Yes, I'd love to know too, 'cos if there are kickbacks on offer my clinic certainly doesn't receive them

Miss B replied to hamish-n-andy's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I would be getting her to a vet asap. Did you take her to the vet last time, and did they find anything? -

Look, I hate to say this, but I think you have given up on Miss Daisy far too quickly. So why exactly did you rehome her? You say that you've decided to rehome her because she's a Lab, and you are Samoyed people? Honestly that doesn't make much sense to me, especially given that you were so desperate to own a Lab. What if Miss Daisy was the most beautiful well behaved little darling of a Lab puppy? Would you still have rehomed her, simply because you are not a 'Lab person' (a conclusion you have come to rather swiftly). The fact of the matter is, all puppies are hard work. They need training, they need socialisation, they need to know who's boss, they need to be taught bite inhibition. They are just babies and they need to learn. I understand that you have young children and they are your main priority - perhaps you should hold off on the Sammie puppy for a while, maybe until your kids are a little older? Otherwise you risk bringing another puppy into your home who may not turn out to be 'right' for your family either.

All shampoo strips the oil... A "good" shampoo still will. I wash my show girl with Aloveen every single week and her coat is beautiful. No problems at all with her skin - not dry, not flaky, not itchy.

I gave Luna a hydrobath and blow-dry today in preperation And bought her a new doggy doona for her crate Can't wait

Elizabethan Collars And Leaving A Dog Alone Wearing One
Miss B replied to jaybeece's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
My dogs have all, at some point or another, been left at home alone in an e-collar. I have never had any dramas whatsoever - they soon learn how to navigate doorways, stairs etc with the 'bucket' on. -
Depends I suppose... pet or show dog? My young Sibe bitch gets a hydrobath and a blow dry once a week because I want to keep her coat in good condition for shows. The old boy is lucky to get a bath twice a year, and Luna gets a bath and blowdry once a fortnight or so - mostly because she is indoors so much and I don't want a fur blizzard inside my house. ETA: I always use something mild, like Aloveen.

Sucked in, you got a Husky :D Give me Husky fur over Staffy fur any day of the week Staffy fur makes me itchy!!!

OH and I are just coming to the Saturday day-session only. Arriving Saturday morning and heading home again that night. It's lucky I didn't end up booking a cabin anyway, as it now looks like I may have to work on Sunday.

Where's the fun in that?

Please We Need Some Advice- Quick
Miss B replied to Samodor's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
Sorry to hear this We've been through a similar situation recently with our rescue Sibe. She hasn't been getting along very well with our other dogs and particularly my young Sibe bitch. At the moment I am keeping them seperated and when Luna (the rescue girl) goes outside she wears a muzzle at all times. We've booked ourselves in for the K9 Force aggression workshop next month and will be taking her with us in an attempt to figure out what's causing this behaviour. I hope you manage to sort something out.
