Totally up to you if you want to go to show training. Personally I think it's a great idea They do lots of exercises which are useful for both handler and puppy, I'm going to start going with my boys again soon so if you do decide to head along there will be at least one friendly face there It's held on Thursday nights from 6.30pm to 7.30pm, no need to pre-book, just rock up with your $3 and join the class.

Congrats Erin! Good luck with your bubbas first show Kyza's first show was also a speciality, but not a breed specialty (it was the Asian Breeds Club of QLD - unfortunately we do not have Jap Spitz specialties!!). He was a naughty little turd

Yeah it took me quite a few shows to really get into it How exciting, and what a gorgeous name. I hope you are planning on sharing lots of pics with us

You should have seen my first couple times in the ring. I was soooooo nervous, I was shaking like a leaf, heart palpitations, feeling physically ill etc. I'm a total wuss. Luckily it didn't take me too long to get over it and now I love showing Congrats on the pup, when do you get him/her?

Its before as well as after isnt it? I have been told its because it works on the dog's natural oils and water strips this. Yup no bathing/swimming etc for 48 hours either side of application.

I've never won anything other than fringie ribbons, not even for class-in-Group wins!

We normally recommend 48 hours.

Well I work at my regular vet clinic, so I don't have a whole lot of feedback to offer on that front. But I do see specialists from time to time. I like to exceed client expectations at my own clinic, so I am always very critical of customer service when I am the client myself. My reptile specialist is lovely, as are her nurses. They always remember who I am and make an effort to greet my animals by name (despite the fact that they are lizards ). I had a receptionist at another specialist treat me quite rudely recently, I had just spent $1,200 on an MRI scan for my dog so needless to say I wasn't very impressed

Why Don't People Pick Up After Their Dogs At Shows?
Miss B replied to TessnSean's topic in General Dog Discussion
Yes, it's utterly hilarious to allow your dog to piss on other peoples personal property. Sooooooo funny. What if a member of the public was attending a dog show, and caught you allowing your dog to toilet on their tyres? I'm sure that's sending a really great message about dog exhibitors -
Puppy Going To Friends House For A Visit?
Miss B replied to BooBooBear's topic in General Dog Discussion
Yep I was at a barbecue last weekend and saw a guest slip a cooked chicken wing under the table to the hosts' dog -
He looks very pleased with himself

That would be just my luck if Greenbank have scrapped the dog section OH and I moved into the area about 5 months ago, and I was so excited about having a show that is just five minutes up the road from us!!

A bush is one thing. Letting your dog walk up and cock it's leg on someone's car is just plain rude!! Big deal if it's "just" the tyres, and your dog is so talented that he manages to avoid the rims every single time. It's rude just the same. -
There doesn't seem to be anything on the website, or in the CCCQ show schedule

Our clinic has signs up requesting that all dogs are on lead and cats are in cages. We do get the odd client here and there who come in with an off-lead dog, we have some spare slip leads at reception for this reason. We had an older dog brought in off-lead one day, the owner let it roam around the waiting room despite the fact that the dog was incontinent and was clearly dribbling wee everywhere!!

Python, most registered breeders will not sell you a pup on Main papers unless you intend on showing If you do want a pup for the purpose of showing, you may have to be fairly patient. Particularly as this is a rare breed and you are specificially after a male pup. It may take a while until the 'right' pup comes along. Otherwise, you are better off purchasing a pet on the Limited register. Kangals are great looking dogs and he will be no less magnificent than a Main registered pup, I'm sure

Are you looking for a pup to show?

Do you like your car tyres to smell like dog piss? I know I don't! -

Oh I must be thinking of Sunday then! I blame the sunburn, it fried my brain She is such a great little handler. Speaking of this heat, I'm on holidays this week, and it is sooooo disgustingly hot at home. Even the water in the swimming pool is warm, ewww. I almost wish I was at work, in the air-con. How tragic is that

We've got Sibes and Japanese Spitz, and our property is 1.25 acres. It is divided into 4 separate fenced sections - the front yard (dog-free zone!), the main dog yard behind the house (about 1/3 of an acre), and 2 smaller individual dog runs (10m x 7m each).

BJ did a great job in handlers with the little Pap on Saturday night, she should have recieved a place! I had a nice weekend, although it did feel rather odd to spend all weekend at a show without my dogs!! And I'm sunburnt

Poor Tia! Sending healing vibes, I hope she starts to feel better real soon.
