I have a little brag for my Japanese Spitz boy Kyza, 'Esilanna Shiro Mashumaro' At the Asian Breeds Club of QLD open show on Saturday, he was awarded BEST JUNIOR IN SHOW I know it was only an open show but he is my first proper show dog and this was his first 'in show' win and I was absolutely stoked. Thanks for letting me brag

Ours wasn't too bad, we had 6 Japanese Spitz from memory. Although the German Spitz were also on that night, and there was only 1 dog present.

Two words: Rescue Remedy.. Hahaha I dont think my dog will be nervous at all! He's got 75 points towards his Australian Champion so he's an experienced little chap.. his previous owners say he will 'show me what to do'... good lord how I hope that's atleast a little true.. Lol. I think she meant the rescue remedy for you

I talk to my dogs, they are trained with words like 'stay' and 'stand' - but I never use their names in the ring.

Many people don't know that despite being an all-white, coated breed - they are surprisingly low maintenance and easy to keep clean

Think of it like a human pharmacy though... do you get medications cheaper when purchased on a repeat? Nope. As far as I'm concerned, the consult fee pays for the vets time, expertise and opinion. The medication fee (whether it includes a dispensing fee or not) pays for the drugs. ETA: If we didn't charge a dispensing fee, the tablets themselves would be more expensive in order to make the same profit margin.

Where do I start... Judge asked me to do a triangle, so off I went... in the wrong direction :D Got to the first corner, realised my mistake and turned around to look at the judge with a horrified expression on my face. I think it was only my 3rd time in the ring and luckily the judge was lovely, and allowed me to start over. Umm what else... female judge awards my dog Best of Breed, I responded with 'thank you sir' And even just recently, the judge had awarded BOB to the dog and the steward called for the reserve dog (which was not my boy)... however I hadn't been paying attention and rushed into the ring, thinking they were doing the Puppy of Breed runoff

My breed only comes in one colour

My clinic does charge a dispensing fee, however it does not appear on the itemised invoice. It's included in the cost of the medication.

You'd be surprised - some people just never learn. I know of a BYB who had a complete disaster with her first litter of SWF cross-breeds. Bitch got very sick and they lost all the puppies. Vet recommended desexing the bitch asap. Lo and behold the bitch was pregnant again on her very next season...

Certainly one of the more 'memorable' shows in recent times, my dogs enjoyed the impromptu swimming lesson I think everything ran very smoothly despite the difficult conditions
