What a gorgeous Scottie!

Terrible. 3 days!! That's ridiculous.

I've had the same experience, the other pups didn't survive either. With medication we were able to keep the bitch "ok" and hoped that the pups would make it. Their heartbeats stopped over time. In the end she delivered on the due date - all the puppies but they had died. I guess logic would tell you that there is a possibility of surviving puppies if you are able to keep the infection under control and it doesn't affect those within the uterus. But, it's not a great environment to support life. It's definitely a catch 22 situation. Premmie whelps don't survive, so provided it's safe for the Mum trying to control the infection is the only option, with close monitoring of course. I'd try that rather than a C section unless you were absolutely sure of gestation / ovulation/fertilisation timing from progesterone levels at time of mating.

Dear Sandy, I'm so sorry for your loss, Hooley was a beautiful little guy and I can tell how much he meant to you. A special bond. RIP and run free, special little man.

Well done MM that's a great start.... I'm sure the puppies will be ready for a play date anytime, yesterday mine were so excited at anything they saw, it was lovely to see the wonder of it all in their little faces. My boy was exhausted after a big day for him and I think he's still sleeping it off. And I'm so glad to hear you aren't going to Ballarat too!

that's so exciting, Congratulations!

Not what you are wanting to hear I'm sure and not very helpful - but honest. Time will tell. All the concern, worry, everyday dexamination and prodding and massage won't change the end result. So just be patient until they are there, or he is 6 months old, whichever comes first. Que sera sera. Relax and enjoy him, you can show him up until 6 months and most judges will have their own ideas on it. I think most, like me, wouldn't penalise a young pup for not being able to find 2. I wouldnt be fixating on it as a point of judging a baby puppy class.(Especially to the point of upsetting the pup during the examination - that's over the top)

ah ok, that makes a bit more sense, thanks Linda. i'm surprised I'm the only one who found that information a bit vague as to what it is actually referring to - a business, or a home, in relation to Dogs Vic members or to the Dogs Vic insurance policy....
-
In Victoria, don't most councils require a permit for more than 2? That's where I'm confused.....
-
On Page 3 of the Gazette (insert) From the dest of the Chief Executive Legislative Requirements..... I'm Confused.... what is that all about - a permit is required when more than 5 animals housed on property??? I referred to the website, but the links as described are not there.
-
Oh, my babies first show too, maybe we shall get them together for a play in the puppy pen....
-
Congratulations, that is a special achievement.

I've imported 4 dogs. No, I didn't use insurance because if something were to happen, no amount of money would bring back the dog. The major cost is the freight and assoicated fees - usually as much or more than the dog itself and as far as I know you are insuring the animal and wouldn't get any reclaim on freight charges paid if you were to make a claim.
-
Aah, agreed, but you see it's much quicker and easier to fry the small fish.............

I think what's confusing you is that CaptainCourageous (CC) and BlakBelgian (BB) are husband/wife. I don't think Bittymoopeeb meant that in the photo you looked like a man just that from forum posts she always thought you were a man and now is surprised to see you in person. and Congrats on the great results.... both of you must be thrilled!

isn't that lovely, congratulations :p -
Yes I have had that suggestion many times and it puzzles me too. I don't see that there is any more resemblance to a GSD than any other breed with a black face, I guess it's just the GSD is a well known breed. It's weird that people know absolutely nothing about dog breeds try to guess or just presume because they don't recognise it that it must be a cross between two of the (possibly 8) breeds they do know. I like to think I know every breed of dog, pretty much, and if I saw a pedigree dog I would know what breed it was. So, I guess if someone is asking what the breed is, that in itself means they don't really know at all..... ??? And then there is the friend with a Kees who met someone who continued to INSIST that their dog was a CAUCASIAN...!

I've been thanking Troy for years but happy to do it publicly Great website, Great Management, professional, efficient, pleasant, sensible, considerate and forward thinking. What more could anyone ask for? You do a great job Troy. Congratulations on the well earned success of DOL and the community that has grown from it.

I love the branded items that are only for specific wins, they make them more special and (if clothing) you are proud to wear them as a "badge of honour". But it's disappointing if you don't have your size and they are a bad design. I love my Aluminium grooming box from Sydney Royal 1999, it's a bit battered now and needs a new coat of paint but I will always treasure it. Dog show umbrellas, Breed prints, TV, DVD player, Bookcase (handmade), Microwave, Motel Stays including meal, Quality Dog Food, Cash.

Let's face it, in truth they are all great and it's very rarely one would spoil the atmosphere for me. To single out individuals though, LEN GOFFIN is tops. Mr MACANDIE and Reg Crabb are other names that spring to mind. Anyone who is polite, thoughtful and sensible, gets my vote.

The trolley rack attaches to the towball so NO you couldn't have an external car trolley rack AND tow a trailer.

Wow, finished by 10:15? That is quick. Congratulations on the BIG

I've gone to 5 weeks, but she was starting to get matronly after that. My girls have done very well when they are pregnant as they just bloom.

I got my trolley /tow bar attachment many years ago it was custom made by a man down here, I have seen them advertised again....when I see the advertisement again I will post into this thread. If I remember correctly, one of the trolley manufacturers are selling them. It is it shaped like a T upside down and the trolley sits in a tray. The unit is attached to the tow bar. It is great also for me because I have suffered back problems and I am able to fold the trolley and lift with only my arm strength and not strain my back to lift and twist with a heavy and awkward weight. Another thing is that the trolley is the first thing unpacked and the last thing packed. (the opposite to when it is at the bottom on your boot).
