are you feeding any dry food? Most dog rolls purchased from the supermarket are better added to dry food and are not enough alone for a growing puppy.

Dont take this the wrong way, but if you were purchasing a pup from me and you didnt like the dog sleeping inside then I wouldnt sell you a puppy. My dogs are part of my family and when I home puppies they only go to families that will also treat their new pup as part of their family. Fair enough if you are not home they can be outside but when you are home I would expect them to be there with you and also sleep inside. Crate training is very important whether it be for example - to help with toilet training, if you need to later on lock up/secure your dog due to an accident, a secure place inside when needed and so on. The puppy will also need allot of socialising with your cat if you ever expect them to get along.

My dogs get carrots at least 3 times a week.. I freeze them and they love them!! These are their treats..

At what age do you do the first vac? Im lucky my vet doesnt charge the earth :-) 6-7 weeks for first vacc..

Vaccination at 3months of age covers them for 12 months.. I have only ever in over 20 yrs done two vaccinations and the third has only ever been the 2nd bordatella.. Now I use the nasal spray with second vacc and then booster in twelve months. The vaccination card will say booster required 12months form the date.. So they are fully vaccinated. Nobivac is only two doses. Some vets I feel do the 3 vacc so if anything happens then it wont come back on them and also for the cash!!! Just IMO

Try to feed your pup when you are home and are able to let him out.. Biggest mistake made when crate training is being fed at night and let out only the once before being put to bed to sleep.. I feed main meal in morning as Im home to let pup/s out to toilet all day and a small meal early in the night so pup/s dont go to bed with too full a stomach.. Morning comes around and everything is still clean. Also let out of crate at different times, dont set too much of a routine especially in the morning. If you vary times then he wont get too used to be letting out when you are not ready to le thim out.

Be careful feeding too much offal as this can be a major concern with your dogs getting lots more worms than usual..

there are lots more premium dry foods than you have listed. I feed RC and are very happy with it

Many of the premium dryfoods are made especially for large/giant breeds so you dont need to add too many other foods. Royal Canin, Eagle pack and I think Pro plan have giant breed puppy food.

I have also heard that giving charcoal tablets daily helps.. There are so many ifs and buts - there are no definite answers to Bloat....

dont feed with bowls on floor, have them at chest height. always add water to dryfood when feeding. You can either soak biscuits (I prefer not to do this as they are then soft and dont help their teeth). I add 1 cup of water to 1 cup of biscuits. You can also soak some biscuits before feeding to see how much they expand.. many of the cheaper dry foods expand quite a bit..

Never heard of the 'Husher' before.. We make our own bark muzzles for each working dog to fit.. All you need is a metre or two of PVC (Used for dog collars, bridles etc) a buckle, studs and a hammer.. Its similar to the "Husher" (just had a look at them) but its just a crossed nose band fitted to each dog. Out of all the dogs we have used them on over the years, I have had one only that can do a muffled bark.. The 'husher' says they can eat, drink etc. If they can with them on then they can bark.. Our bark muzzles allow the dogs to drink but they cant eat let alone bark..

We use bark muzzles on our working dogs.. when they are not required for work they often bark most of the day as they are so eager to go. They are very simple easy to make.. dogs can drink, breathe fine but cannot bark. Details and photos can be posted if required..

Another one I have heard of is that if you piddle/pee on them you are showing who is the boss and they respect you for it. I know of two guys that do this to all their dogs at least once and if it dont work the first time, they do it again. They say that male dogs show dominance by peeing on everything and everyone. You pee on them then you are showing the dominance.. I think its discusting ;) :shakehead:

Does Eagle Pack offer breeders bags/discounts like RC does? You can save approx $20-25 with RC on breeders bags..

They are great cameras and this is a good price however the lenses will only be basic and not have the fast aperture needed. To give you an idea on lenses and quality/price.. canon lenses

The dial is for adjustment. Go to page 67 in manual for example and it will explain using the dial to set a slower shutter speed or increase the ISO speed. Hope this helps

I dont like taking chances with bones. I only ever give large marrow bones split down the middle and brisket bones. All these can be cut smaller also for smaller dogs. Ive never fed pork bones.

Unless she is trying to "work/round up" other dog when he/she approaches. I would still feel this is a submissive thing more than a kelpie using his/her 'eye'. We have bred and trained working kelpies for over 20yrs. The only time I ever have them hit the deck/ly down and not move is when they are being compliant. Hope you have some success soon with Coco...

We fed our working kelpies Great barko for a while but they soon started to turn their noses up and would start to not eat. We feed them cobber and bonnie working dog and they seem to always have energy to work as well as look great.

Sounds like a submissive thing with Coco.. She is not sure about other dogs and by dropping to the ground she is not inviting trouble. You could try socialising her a bit more if possible and maybe offer treats to get her to move towards another friendly dog. We have working kelpies and none would drop to the ground, they prefer to play with everyone and everything.
