2010 Training/title/goals Wish List

I need someone to show me what to do!! You can be our official UD instructor -
They don't bark 'for the sake of it', but they are very vocal at other things... They were bred to bark while they were herding so of course anything that resembles herding you're going to get vocalisation from a typical lappie. Ahsoka is NOISY when she's playing - she barks, whines, makes screaming banshee noises... It was worse as a puppy and we have done a lot of training with her to quieten her down a bit, but yeah. You need to be aware that it 'could' become a problem if you don't train it.

and they talk. Tell you off for going out and not taking them! And talk while playing... And yell at other dogs coz they aren't playing back...

Err... Lappies bark. You know that right?!

2010 Training/title/goals Wish List

Okay, I've had a think about this... Dear Santa Paws... Jedi - Get his allergies under control so we can get back in the OB ring. Even if this is the only thing we accomplish in 2010, I will be the happiest person in the world! - If his allergies are settled, get his CCD and novice titles - Train him up to doing UD exercises (he's already doing open exercises) - I have my articles ready and we've just started training scent work - Get his Flyball Dog Champion title - Get him to HT level for herding and maybe a pass or two!? - Don't know what we'll do with agility... we'll see! - ET title Ahsoka - Start trialling and get her CCD title. Can I push it and say her novice as well?! - Get her Flyball Dog Champion title - Start tracking training (I don't think we'll be trialling in 2010 though) - Get her HT title for herding - Again, dunno what I'll do with agility. It'll be difficult squeezing everything else in! - ET title Thanks Santa! -

Well!!! Jedi - has started trialling in ccd but his allergies have thrown a major spanner in the works!!! - got his HIC - passed his therapy dog test - started agility - started flyball - retrieves!!!!!!!! Woooh!!! Ahsoka - gained her Australian championship for conformation - is getting there with obedience... A bit rough around the edges! Haha! - didn't do lure coursing but we've started agility and flyball and tracking - gained her HIC next year is going to be awesome! I'm going to think about my wishlist for 2010. -
Great idea Noella! I will be there with Jedi and Ahsoka!!

-

-
Very nice Ashli! Look at those eyes!
-
Congrats Ptolomy!!!!!

Ahsoka is really responsive to my body language... She is really quick to pick up on signals that lead to the signal! Her drop while heeling is soooooo fast - she responds more to my upper body coming forward slightly before I give my down signal! Sounds like Erik is having a ball with his training! I can't wait to see him in action!

Well, ofcourse you do! Seriously, has anyone noticed that this thread is in the top 5 for regular hits?? Not bad, esp when lappies are still becoming known. However, popularlity is a double edged sword.... Yeah Lappiemum, you're ruining my best kept secret!

Best 1. They're intelligent and have a nice working drive so they're fairly easy to train, but still with a bit of spitzy spunk! 2. They give the most amazing cuddles! 3. They're very easy to live with and get along with most dogs and people. Worst 1. They can be noisy. When we had our NSW lappie picnic there was quite a bit of barking to alert the arrival of another dog! Though in my experience they can be trained to be quieter and they usually don't bark just for fun. 2. Umm... 3. Err... Yeah, I can only think of one 'worst' thing!

I use Zyrtec, so I can't help. But his dose is 10mg (1 tablet) per day. He's 15kg. I tried Claratyne but it did nothing to help my boy. Haven't tried Telfast.
