  1. He is too cute! I can't wait to see his progress!
  2. The very fact that the dog will be spending a lot of time in a dam is what tells me that you should probably steer away from a lappie (or other long coated breed). Not that they wouldn't love that, but the problem with a double coat is that you will need to dry the dog thoroughly every time it gets wet to prevent hot spots... Drying a lappie with a dog blower takes about 15-20 minutes minimum. With a human hair dryer, you could be there for over an hour! That's a fair commitment, considering one of your criteria is low maintenance coat care. They are fine in the heat provided they get shade. I find my adult lappie copes better in the heat than my Keeshond, even though she's mostly black. Remember that ANY dog is going to get hot in 35+ degrees!! They are sensible though - they'll just find a shady spot and sleep the day away and become more active at night. One analogy that might help you get around the double coat - think about people in the middle eastern desert where the temps are in excess of what we have here. They aren't running around in t-shirts and shorts - they wear long garments that helps to insulate from the heat. I'm not lappiemum, but seeing as I'm here... Surprisingly their coats are very low maintenance. 10-15 minutes per week with a pin brush is sufficient. I have left my bitch for a couple of months (as an experiment) without a groom and she had no mats and didn't even look like she'd been neglected in the grooming department!
  3. As PF says, Affiliate Name is the club who gave you the qualie and Points/Qualification just write Q. Jedi's ET title took a few weeks to get back (sent it off early July, got it back late July). Other titles have only taken 1.5 weeks, so it just depends how busy they are.
  4. Ahsoka always has things to do! She self exercises and entertains herself. She's always off on an adventure in the yard or throwing a toy for herself. She never sleeps the whole day away. Fable has taken after Soaks. Even for a baby puppy she is VERY active! She hardly sleeps! Jedi on the other hand... Well, ZzzZzzZZzzZzzz...
  5. That's really sad... Fingers crossed more clubs come on board! It really should be compulsory!
  6. I'm not regional (I live in Sydney), but I try and support the regional trials and make the trip! I love the little trials! Everyone is so friendly!
  7. The triple Tuggerah Lakes show over 15-17th October at Hillsborough (NSW) has neutered classes! I'll be entering my boy!
  8. Yes I do believe that one was right after your big laugh
  9. Awww! Bugger! Congrats on the first pass!!! Here are a couple of piccies I took. They're not the best photos (I only had the 50mm with me - bit hard to get the focus right from soooo farrrrrrr awayyyyyyyyyyyy)
  10. they'd look like they'd just been in a punch up!
  11. Oh right - you were picking me up on my poor specifics of coat colour. You had me confused for a moment!!!!
  12. Except that's a brown wolf-sable TN Would you not classify the markings as spectacles?
  13. They aren't dumb! Ask away!
  14. There would not be too many cement ones around, if any. Try looking for concrete ones instead,
  15. Spectacles are just another marking trait... So yes, you can have them with any colour. Here's a brown lappie with spectacles:
  16. I don't typically capture day-to-day behaviours. I have shaping sessions but I never try and reward random behaviour. Just a personal thing. When I'm doing formal training (not tricks), my guys are crated or tied up.
