I'm considering what lens to get next and because I love my 50mm so much I thought I'd carry the theme and get another prime! I was thinking an 85mm f/1.8 and it will predominantly be used for shooting flyball. Has anyone had a go of one of these? Any comments?

That's great to hear Mas! It's tough when they're itchy! Jed had a great night at flyball last night - he is now running in a team and doing his passes without any issues, so I'm very excited about our next comp in 2 weeks! At the end of the night he refused to leave the grounds!!! He wanted to do more!!!!! (he does the same at obedience as well!)

Teaching A Dog To Eat Things On Command
TerraNik replied to Staranais's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
My boy needs to take a lot of pills for his condition at times and so I have paired the pill with a massive reward. He now comes running when I say the word "tablet" and will open his mouth wide as soon as I put my fingers on either side of the top of his muzzle so that I can slot the pill in. So a little different to what you are doing, but you can definitely condition it to be positive! -
What a cutie!

Geez, that first link was NOT what I was expecting! But I like it! Not something I would look at every day though - but very interesting.

I have a very similar story. We have Petplan insurance and they have been brilliant! Jedi has a chronic condition, but they will cover him for life. This year alone they have saved us just shy of $2,000 (that is taking into account the cost of the insurance and the excess).

Thanks for posting that! Fingers crossed this gets passed!

The one with the Kelpie that barked in the ring I think she was the only Kelpie that turned up. Oh I was commenting to someone on the Kelpie's coat condition, it was beautiful - you won the CCD yes? Not quite - we came 2nd. Abby's coat is glorious! Woof's kelpies are all in amazing condition!

That was so lovely to read!

Good luck! It's always a bit nerve wracking trialling for the first time! Even if it's just with a new dog! In the back of my mind, I was SURE that Abby was going to provide some entertainment for on-lookers on the weekend even though I knew we had done the work! But thankfully she proved me wrong! I went and watched a trial in the weekend and I felt for some of them as their dogs were clearly doing stuff they hadn't expected. I had taken Dante to get used to the environment and we ended up having to move him away (we were about 5 metres from the ring) as 2 dogs during their heeling pattern stopped and stared at Dante who was just standing there - see, he's a freak show even to other dogs so it WAS you! I said to Shell that I thought the Dane watching mustve been Dante! I should've cone and said hello!
