  1. They shouldn't, unless they are fitted incorrectly. The harnesses on my dogs sit well ABOVE their shoulders, so there is no way they could be interfering with movement. As seen here - Meanwhile, here you go - Dudley the Briard doing flyball And a Tibetan Terrier And the flying rug And my guys... Soaks is the first and only Finnish Lapphund in Australia to compete in Flyball And the Flying Fuzz himself And some unusual herding videos... Jedi - one of the two known herding Keeshonds in the country (he's still learning...)Demi - Finnish Lapphund herding sheepies http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rvWwXqvCOvI
  2. I did a 365 in 2009 (geez, that seems only yesterday!)... It was hard, but I felt I had sooo much more time! This year I think I got to Day 122 before I realised that all my energy was going into my uni work and I just didn't have the motivation or time to come up with anything creative. It just wasn't fun anymore and I knew that if I kept going I'd end up resenting my camera! I did get a lot out of it though... The majority of my shots had me in it. I wanted to do one month of self portraits and managed to keep going until Day 73! I used to be really self-conscious in front of the camera, and now it's not THAT bad... And I am really happy with most of my shots looking back... at the time I didn't though. So maybe I'll give it another go next year... I can only try!
  3. I got my first dog when I was 11... Toby the Beagle. We attended OB classes (back in the check-chain era! ) As I was growing up I used to make him little jumps out of bricks and broomsticks and even managed to fashion my very first bar jump out of wood and nails It never went anywhere and I quickly became a teenager... you know how it goes. This is my gorgeous Toby (at 5 months) Then when Toby died and I felt that I was ready for another dog, we got Jedi. I had planned on doing obedience with him, but by the time he was about 10 weeks old I realised he was a freak of a puppy who picked things up immediately and that's when I really considered competing with him. Thankfully there were some great people on DOL (thanks guys!) who gave me some fantastic advice! And as Ness says - the rest is history! Jedi now 2 yrs old and has 1 OB title (and 2 passes towards his next), 1 flyball title (only a few points away from his 2nd), an ET title, his herding instinct certificate and will be debuting in agility next year! He is a bit of an all-rounder! We now have two other dogs who are training in flyball, agility, herding and obedience - one of whom is my partner's who has also been bitten by the dog sport bug!
  4. I would really love to do another project 365 or 52 weeks... We'll see what the workload is like next year though. It's my last year of uni and I have a feeling the doctors are going to flog us.
  5. I've been really flat out this year and something had to give I just haven't had the time to put into my photography like I did before, so I stopped my project 365, etc because I felt like I was producing sub-standard work. I have been doing a little 52 Weeks project of Fable though as she grows, but not much effort has gone into it! Here's the link - http://www.flickr.com/photos/terranik/sets...57624439487826/ And a few recent ones of Jedi and Soaks - Hope Bella is feeling okay after her surgery. Give her a hug for me!
  6. A personal thing, but I think this shot was much nicer in colour
  7. if that ain't the story of my life! Hilarious, but oh so true! Only thing I'd add...your family & friends think you are clinically insane & refer to your dogs as "those bloody dogs" (with the mandatory eye roll) I get that all the time... And when you get another dog, they exclaim, "ANOTHER one?!!!!!!!!!!!!"
  8. When I get my pet pig (once we have our property) you can come for a holiday and photograph it you have yourself a deal! So long as you can put up with Soakie and Fable cuddles... Jedi is a snob unless you're one of his 'people'
  9. When I get my pet pig (once we have our property) you can come for a holiday and photograph it :D
