You should come for a drive to Sydney and do some trialling I hope to do this some day, or at least some trials in northern NSW for something a bit different. Most likely won't happen next year though.... That would be awesome! Ahsoka is going to make her debut early next year... I've picked a trial date so that I have a deadline to work towards! I did some training with her today at a breed show and although it was about 38 degrees, she did some really nice work! She's not as enthusiastic as Jedi, but I'm thinking that's a good thing He has a little tooooooo much

Nope... we have one more left at our club's grounds, so I'm looking forward to that! It's Abby's first Novice trial!

I had this problem - Jedi was a velcro dog and he wouldn't stop staring at me and wouldn't work away from me... So we went and did Flyball! Because of that, he learned how to work away from me and focus on something other than me. We're back doing agility now and we no longer have those issues. So I guess, I taught him how to work away from me - I think Ness and SnT had some good ideas.

Abby got her 4th CCD pass tonight with a 93/100 and equal 3rd (came 4th after the count back)! I am so proud of her! We finally cracked the 90's! She gave me some nice work! And although Jedi didn't pass tonight (dropped in the sit stay :D ), he gave me the most beautiful work I've seen since putting him in the novice ring, so I'll brag about that! It was stinking hot and yet he still worked his little heart out for me for what would've been a 193.

It's fairly big... size of a normal backyard pool. Looks great. Can you book it for your dogs only or is it open to all dogs like a dog park? I don't know if you can book it or not - I just usually turn up (we go during the week). It's used by a lot of greyhound people to exercise their dogs. I have always waited for others to be done and others have given me the same courtesy.

Yep, we go there (though haven't been recently). It's not heated anymore though, unless they have changed back to heated since the last time we went.

Of course we do!!!!! Mitch decided to butter Soaks up for her pressies, too! They usually just get lots of toys, treats and anything they 'need' like lifejackets, cool coats, etc. This year it will just be treats and toys.

I think temperament and drive depend on the lines. I can't speak for other ANKC Kelpie breeders, but I have met quite a few Callicoma Kelpies and their progeny and they have all done really well in dog sports and had that drivey kelpie temperament.

As far as I am aware no one at least in WA has to belong to a Club in order to trial, you just have to belong to, in our case, Dogs West, there is nothing in the ANKC that says you have to belong to a Club to trial. Please correct me if I am wrong Beagie I think she meant her club won't let her in the practice trial ring on club grounds until she has passed their basic obedience classes.

Can you not take her out of classes, train her up and then ask them to assess her individually?
