  1. I feel your frustration RS!! Jedi is going really well with the 2x2 - he's up to a jump + 4 straight poles and I'm about to add another set of poles. No worries! Soaks on the other hand was driving me bonkers! I ended up going back to the beginning with her and since I did that, she has been going much better! I just lowered my expectations of her and decided that she can go at her own pace (as I should have allowed her in the beginning!!!). She's now up to 2 sets of poles and we're slowly closing them. I'm making sure that her entries are perfect before they are fully closed - this was my mistake last time and it got her unstuck. She has the opposite problem though - entries from the left are great! The easy ones (from the right) are harder for her
  2. Muhahahahaha!!! it's great fun! Though I warn you... It is addictive!
  3. Do you have any agility or flyball videos on your youtube TerraNik? I'd love to see your two in action! Yep I do... Jedi got his first title at this comp (he was still a bit green!!)... And yes, I'm a girl - My ex was running Jedi -- And here's Soaks at the same comp (again, being run by someone else)... I can't remember why I wasn't at that comp I don't have much agility... I've only just started videoing... Here's Jedi doing some 2x2 weave training (our most recent video) - And some serpentines and front/rear crosses - And Soaks' most recent 2x2 vid - Nice PB, Shoe!!! Ahsoka's PB is 5.6 I think... Hoping to get her down to the early 5's. I haven't been looking at Jedi's times yet.
  4. I have to agree with Mason... My boy has severe atopic dermatitis and proven allergies (shown on intradermal skin test and blood test) to several environmental allergens and NO anti-histamines have ever worked for him. Unfortunately Jedi does have recurrent staph infected folliculitis, so is now on life-long pulse therapy antibiotics and that is keeping him comfortable. I really feel for dogs with an itchy skin condition (whatever the cause) - so I really hope you find some answers soon so you can start the appropriate treatment. ETA - JulesP - I think there must have been some confusion with your reply to Mason -- Mason was saying that it is not strictly true that anti-histamines work on every dog with allergies and you replied "actually it is strictly true". Mason was not questioning the staph part of your comment (in my eyes) -- your comment saying anti-histamines do not work for Staph infections was correct and I don't believe Mason was challenging that.
  5. I agree... Something I have realised recently is just because you have the piece of paper that says you've done the course, doesn't mean you actually know jack about what you're doing! I have seen some real shockers who have no clue! So I'm more inclined to go for someone that has personal results - I look at their dogs first and their achievements. Then I look at recommendations from others whom I respect - not just any random. And then if I'm still happy, I would contact them for an initial consult. Of course if they don't use training methods that I don't agree with, then I wouldn't be looking at them in the first place.
  6. Emmy is so cute in her little lifejacket!
  7. My guys use a bell, but yeah - if your dog is going to chew that's probably not a good option.
  8. Jedi is a natural and will swim happily by choice. But poor Soaks... She's a vertical swimmer Get me OUT of here!!!! She has since learned to swim properly with the help of the vest and now she's okay :D
  9. To me, I don't see any difference to my current set up... The dogs are inside the entire time and they have full run of downstairs (the size of an apartment). They only go outside to toilet and to have a run around but they need to be let out. So it's not much different to if I were to just take them down to the park instead of let them out into the backyard. You would need a very dedicated owner though, who is willing to put in the time and take the dog out. The only major issue I could see would be barking... Obviously that wouldn't be so good in an apartment!
  10. I don't think there are any advantages except that you have proved Charlie is an uber awesome dog who is well behaved It's not a very common thing here - hasn't quite taken off as well as overseas. But hooray to you and Charlie!!
  11. Or not... I think I forgot to enter Woops!

  13. Yeah, it'd increase it. They'd set each other off. The GS were bred as watchdogs, so you'd probably find they would bark more than a JS. That doesn't mean they are yappy (though they can be) but it does mean that they can/will bark at anything, even if what they are barking at is invisible to you You can train the barking so that it is minimal, but they will never be silent dogs.
  14. We will definitely be doing it. We had a ball at the workshop - had it been an official trial, Jedi would've got his RN title. It is a lot of fun!
  15. Hope everything's okay Aziah! I noticed you weren't at GS...
