  1. This is the number reason why my guys are not allowed bones inside. They can bury them wherever they like outside! The garden is full of them! Our youngest pup will run towards the door, sit, drop her bone and wait to be let inside. They know the rules!!
  2. Have you tried carrying him outside, eliminating the chance to pee inside? And maybe set a timer for a certain time (e.g. 30 minutes) and every time it goes off take him outside to pee. I would agree with all the things LukeW has said, too. It does seem a bit odd that he is peeing so much -- then again, I don't know what's normal for a miniature poodle!
  3. Oh how devastating!!!!!!! Sweet sleeps, Charlie.
  4. I would love to trial with my Keeshond and Finnish Lapphund (they're both only puppies)... BUT... I would LOVE to trial with a Berner or Newfy!! You just don't see many of them out there in OB and I think it'd be fun(ny)...!
  5. Great photos, Luke!!! Barkly is gorgeous!
  6. I'm so sorry for your loss. Monster looks like he was a gorgeous fella. Sweet Sleeps, Monster.
  7. Ah the teenage stage of ears painted on... It's almost like a flip of a switch! I was going through that with Jedi but he's all of a sudden flipped the switch back again! Horah!
  8. Oh no!! I am so so so so sorry to hear this... Sweet sleeps, Odin.
  9. Wow, that is a large incision!! But it's so good that he's already bouncing back! Look at that tail go!
  10. Have you done any object discrimination yet? You would need to teach that first, then add on the retrieve.
  11. Nope... No rally-o here. Would be cool if there were though! I think it'd be fun!
  12. Congratulations for your second pass!!!!!!!! What a thrill! Two in one weekend!!
  13. The fold back down is also called a sphinx down... It's much more efficient and you end up (usually) with a straighter down as well. Essentially the dog goes from a stand and moves their body backwards and down (keeping feet still) into the down. If you were to slow motion it while you're luring, you would see their front go down and then their butt fall to the ground between their legs. Does that makes sense? I tried to find a video on YouTube but my internet is playing up and everything is taking FOREVER to load! I teach the down/drop using both methods. I start off with the sit if they are having trouble being lured, but once they have kinda got it I move to stand-->down. If they get the stand-->down initially, I don't ever teach sit-->down.
  14. WOOHOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That is such good news!! Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was hoping things went well for you.. Good luck for tomorrow!
  15. Jedi is left pawed Ahsoka is right pawed but is happy to work both ways, but she turns to the right when playing. I never noticed their preferences before...!
  16. That's a new one... Sorry but I think that tugging is perfectly fine, as long as the pup knows the rules (as I wrote in a previous post). Tugging has had no negative effects on my beagle (ATB), keeshond or lappie - it's all been positive! My rules: 1. If I ask you to let go, let go. If you don't, tug goes away and it's the end of the game. 2. If you miss and you get my hand, end of game. 3. If you go for anything other than the tug (e.g. clothes), end of game.
  17. As far as I know mine only accepts vaccination - on joining and renewal.
  18. Well, my 16 week old puppy ran out to the dumbbell, gripped it in her mouth, moved it and lifted it off the ground slightly and then laid down in front of it! That's about as far as we have got with our training - going to the dumbbell and mouthing it, so I'm happy!
  19. At least he'll take food while you're heeling!! Jedi has to stop to eat!! Poor boy is too uncoordinated to heel and eat at the same time!
  20. There's a YouTube video of a different way to teach nice manners... Might be worth a look?
  21. Ahsoka was on chicken frames from 9 weeks old. I didn't start her at 8 weeks because I didn't buy any that week! They're great because they can't scoff them down as fast!
