  1. My Month of Movement shot of today...
  2. Awwwwwwww! Shell that possum is divine!!!!!!!!!! Well worth it! Well done! I have tried to do these shots before... Some of the ones I have seen are AMAZING (with multiple stick figures doing things!) Maybe this is the month to give it another go.
  3. It was a 3 year old Sheltie. Don't know any more details though.
  4. Love the last one AM! RIP 50mm Shell!
  5. I managed to do some frozen motion shots of the dogs last night playing with a ball... Thought I may as well put them up!
  6. Okay, here is my first ever attempt at panning... Have I got the right idea??? And my 'back up' photo..
  7. Aww that is just gorgeous!! I have a similar photo...
  8. I only just caught up on this thread again, but wow - double congratulations TSD!!!!! Go Ziggy!!!!!! You are such an inspiration!!!! :p
  9. I have a Canon 40D. I attempted to do a panning shot of a train today while waiting for my train... I don't think it worked out. Oh well! I got some movement shots of legs walking past aftewards though! :p
  10. Why is it that I can't find the tripod right when I need it! Edt... Ha... OH put it back where it lives. That'd be right!
  11. Ooh this one sounds like fun!! I don't know that I'll be able to do a whole MONTH of movement shots though (for my Month Of.... series)! No longer would I be able to just 'find something' to shoot at midnight before I go to bed It should be okay though - I am on holidays for most of the month. Now... to go make the dogs do zoomies in the yard.
  12. We had an absolute ball today! Thank you so much to Heather for sharing her wisdom!
  13. I use: Down (lying down) Give (give it to me out of your mouth) Leave it (don't go near that with your mouth!) I quite like the way my OB club introduces stay to puppies. I thought it was quite cute! Put the puppy in drop/down position and hold into their collar (you need to crouch or sit next to them). Then put a bunch of treats in front of them. Give the cue "stay" with hand signal and mark (yes/click) and reward with one of the treats in front of them. As the pup gets better you stop holding onto their collar and you start standing up. Then once they're doing well you remove the treats in front of them and start increasing the distance between you and the pup. Never increase time and distance at the same time - only ever one or the other.
  14. Same here. They LOVE milk and cheese and never have any problems with it.
  15. Meeeeeee!!!!!!!!! I'll be there with Master Jedi.
  16. Congratulations TSD with Ziggy!! What a fantastic start to his trialling career!
  17. Well, there are pros to having a fluffy dog... Jedi keeps my feet VERY warm!
  18. I'm having an interesting time trying to teach Jedi the somersault... His ruff is so hairy that I can't actually see if he's targeting the target stick!!!!!! It blocks my vision!!!!!! Even if I sit down and lean close to the ground it's really difficult to see! I'm going to have to wrap something gently around his neck to squash the fur down or we're not going to get anywhere! The joys of a fluffy dog!
  19. I just put booties on my pup!! She doesn't even notice that they're on. I think she loves the new found traction, too!
  20. Jedi's allergies appeared when he was 6 months old. It was 2-3 months later when we confirmed what the allergy was to (chicken) and since then he has been doing much better. He still licks at one of his paws and eats under one of his back legs, but it is no where near as bad and the behaviour is slowly dying off. Jedi and I have an awesome bond - I have never had such a strong relationship with a dog before so I have to say that his allergies had no influence on our bonding.
  21. I think also the somersault is complex in that it is not a natural movement for dogs. Other complex tricks can be multi-stepped... Like teaching a dog to open the fridge, get a can and bring it to you while you just sit on the couch and wait.
