Yep, Ahsoka is getting a bath tomorrow... You can't tell that she's dirty to look at her, but breathe her in and it's all red dust! :p Jedi's turn is on the weekend.

Yeah I am very thankful I have another month!! I haven't had time to even open my box!
-
There's been quite a few threads on DOL about it too... Here are a few... http://www.dolforums.com.au/index.php?show...997&hl=Bell http://www.dolforums.com.au/index.php?show...664&hl=Bell http://www.dolforums.com.au/index.php?show...308&hl=Bell

I use RedBubble too... Fantastic quality calendars! They're HUGE!

Actually I lie!!!!! I have used this for Jedi's dumbbell!!!!!!!!!!!! He would hold it and I would count ... 1...2....3....4.....5..... etc and then click. Worked reaaaaaaaaaally well!
-
Well I definitely don't. The only words that come out of my mouth are praise, "try again" (when he's got confused) and a marker (though I usually use a clicker).

I don't think I understand what you mean by an intermediate bridge.. Can you give an example?

Snake Chain And Training A 16 Wk Pup
TerraNik replied to sandgrubber's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
I started my show lappie on a snake chain at about 4-5 months. Previous to that she was on a martingale style show lead. She already knew what she was doing by that age so I never needed to 'correct' her with the chain anyway. -
I am *this close* to putting in an order... Trying very hard to restrain myself!!!!!

Woohoo! Congrats!

Congratulations!!!!!!!

Herding Infor And Training Days
TerraNik replied to choc_bordercollie's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
I wouldn't be too worried about your 7 month old - you start on-lead, so she won't get a chance to chase. Exposure to the sheep is apparently best done as early as possible, so I'd say bring her along! I go Saturdays and yes, you just rock up, pay your money and wait your turn. Just note that it's not on some days due to trials... No training on: Saturday 26th September October Long Weekend November 21st and 22nd One of my guys is 18 months and he just started. There are some much older dogs just starting out, too. -
That is fantastic to hear that about Kenzie!! What a little champ!! She really sounds like she is improving!

It's funny you say that... We had Jedi for 1 week when OH says to me, "you know, we could have a baby..."! (he previously thought we would not have 'time') They are a lot of work but they are worth it in the end. The more effort you put in now the easier the dog will be as an adult.

First Time In Obedience
TerraNik replied to africandreams's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
That's a good point... I take Jedi into neutered class when it comes up and he's so well behaved! Stand for examination and stand-stay for the line up... He's rock solid! With him I don't even feel like I need to be there! -
Congrats!!!!!
-
Arghh! It's Jedi's first trial Friday week!! Eeek! Hope we don't embarrass ourselves!!

First Time In Obedience
TerraNik replied to africandreams's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
I found the same. Ahsoka knows the difference between obedience and showing - different lead, different clothes, different preparation, different cues/commands. She's never once thought we were doing obedience when we headed into the show ring. As with Seita's girl, Ahsoka knows the difference between heelwork and gaiting. -
Puppy Purchasers....taking Your New Puppy Home
TerraNik replied to ellz's topic in General Dog Discussion
The things I would like: - Bag of food the dog was on at the breeders (usually I have to go out and buy a bag of what they're feeding and then I have all this food left over after transferring them over!) - Photos of the pup from birth (though these days having them on email is fine!) - For a new owner who has never had the breed, instructions on how to groom including a lesson from the breeder on a puppy and a full grown dog. Aside from that, the info, etc of course. -
Good luck!
