  1. Are they easy to toilet train? How are they with goldfish? mum has a pond out back Oh and she has just had her floorboards done - is it extra for declawing? have you taught them to dance yet? or is that extra?
  2. No much better buying dogs from a shelter that doesn't desex all of them, but that is justified apparently. Have you wondered where your crossbreed dogs have originated I bet they weren't from a pet shop? Getting sold undesexed I'm sure they will be around for generations to come though. I am very happy with my limited register pure bred dog and just as happy with my pom cross rescue that I got from a shelter, however my next dog will be pure bred too.
  3. That I do not know, all I know is that Dogs Victoria were made aware who it is and that they are no longer registering puppies, but the parents are papered and the breeder has basically said too bad. I have no involvement of either side, just made some enquiries that is all.
  4. I believe they are from registered parents, who the breeder (Dogs Victoria knows) isn't registering puppies anymore.
  5. If shelters microchip 8 week old kittens, then surely puppies can be. My chi cross pom was done at 8 weeks with no issues
  6. I am fully aware that it is done, I myself have been offered "excess" puppies by registered breeders in the past, but as I don't sell puppies I just listen and then at the end comment that I don't sell puppies and I didn't think you could sell the to pet shops. My original comments were more aimed at the fact that breeders should be calling the Victorian CC to ask if they know about it. I know people do the wrong thing. My second post was informing people that they aren't Accredited PIAA members so wouldn't "be eligible" to be sold puppies from registered breeders according to Dogs NSW at least. I personally think that the ANKC should be more proactive in these issues - if reported Has any Registered Breeders contacted Dogs Victoria about it?
  7. Yes they are. At least, some of them are. I'm pretty sure they are all franchised so it would be up to the individual store owners to apply for PIAA accreditation. Not that it means much anyway, plenty of pet shops are members. There are a couple of members in NSW, NONE IN VIC and NONE are ACCREDITED as a past State Coordinator and the fact I just rung PIAA I know that to be true. I believe NSW breeders can sell to ACCREDITED pet shops, not just members but I didn't think Victorian ones could
  8. Pets Paradise are NOT acrredited ,members of PIAA so then they are not eligible to be sold puppies from Registered Breeders. The Canine Council should be asking PP what breeder he came from and deal with the breeder if it is true then
  9. Well that's a bit of a role reversal isn't it. Pets Paradise being seen to be trying to care for a puppy sold by a registered breeder with a major health condition. I bet she loved that.
  10. I think pounds can release entire dogs, shelters don't (down here at least - well apart from some independant small ones), actually none of them should. How did it take 6 months for them to notice he had balls Obviously he doesn't get many belly rubs
  11. At least she rang a pet food store to enquire about food instead of going to a supermarket or butcher. I find once you can get them in then you can make a difference by educating them from nutrition, health, socialisation etc. Obviously 6 weeks is too young and they needed to be told that but they also need to know what to do now and in the future
  12. My heart dog is my GSD boy and his ashes will be buried with me, he is irreplaceable. My heart will forever have a hole where he belongs, there is not a day that goes by that I don't think of him, his loyalty and companionship. To me a heart dog is that one animal who is the first name you think of when you say the term heart dog. RIP my sweet, loving boy
  13. Ah the joys of semi rural living where the annoying noises come from my house LOVE IS.............donkeys braying, horses neighing, turkeys gobbling, peacocks honking, owls screaming, kangaroos coughing, camels groaning, sheep baaing, goat making that goat sound, owls screeching, chickens clucking, ducks quacking, koalas grunting, frogs croaking, cat meowing, crickets trilling, little fluffy pom cross high pitch barks and big dog woofs.
  14. How were her dogs under effective control? 3 staffords off leash I would have trouble with just one dog, let alone 3 bull breeds including an entire male. It's tools like that that aid in getting the bull breeds bad reputations I am sure that there are plenty of people that could handle their bull breeds off leash - She Simply WAS NOT one of them Poor man he deserves lots of cuddles tonight, and thank goodness they didn't focus on the chi
  15. Ethical Treatment of Animals my ASS PETA rehomining rate of 1 out of 300, is this true? Read This
  16. How about these, Cris? Arson, property destruction, burglary and theft are "acceptable crimes" when used for the animals' cause. -Alex Pacheco (PETA) (_Charleston,_W._VA_Gazette-Mail_, Jan 15, 1989) * * * I believe that this decade will see the first acts of true violence. Some may be accidental - like a bystander killed in a bomb blast; some will be deliberate - like a vivesector shot in the street. The violence will confuse and divide us, but it will be a temporary adjustment and then we will learn to live with it. -Victoria Miller, ARKI: Canadian Animal Rights Network, and former President, Toronto Humane Society (_Animals_Agenda_) WTF! How can they get away with statements like that
  17. What a complete mob of self serving, egotistical, ill informed tossers
  18. It is a very charitable act Robbi to do what you are doing, when I read your post I was waiting for the non desexing issue to come up, which it should obviously. I think it is fantastic that people like you go the extra mile for the animals, it is a rare quality . I have been there myself (not with Moorook), I have organised garage sales etc, seen the donations come in from the public after "whoa is us" publicity including Super Premiums Brands only for it to be sold to staff members at a fraction of the cost. I hope the organisation has as strong good beliefs as you do.
  19. Is anyone else envisioning Ben Stiller in Meet the Parents with his cat milking demonstration
  20. Quick question - what about dogs on breeders terms that are in pet homes, would they have to be registered with their breeder (Council rego)? what if they are in a different Council? Different State?
  21. yep , sounds like he needs toilet training or an empty coke bottle on the bedside table
  22. If BF has a habit of nightly visits to the little boys room, I would definately suggest crate training to minimise risk
  23. I would like to hang his balls into a cage of working ferrets and see how he enjoys that, sick b@$t@rd
  24. I will have a 4 bedroom house available in about 2-3 months but it is in the North Eastern suburbs, so it is in the wrong direction.
  25. Not all Blue Fairy and some of us have tried for years to help rehome rescue cats and dogs - it isn't us stopping it - maybe contact the RSPCA and AWL. Sometimes death rather than rehoming is easier.
