  1. omg! it so is!!! damn! i would have been heading over to the club tomorrow morning wondering where everone was!! ok i think i need more sleep!
  2. i had a panic moment last night, i looked at my phones calander and it said it was friday (it was after midnight) so i thought today was going to be saturday and i hadnt set my alarm. but its all good now haha. i cant wait for tomorrow. its going to be good. hope the weather stays the same as it is today. it will be great
  3. yay!! i love goldens. i use to have one in my class, he was such a great dog, just very hyperactive. i cant wait for the weekend. its going to be a great weekend
  4. i taught my dog with her soccer ball. i had her sitting in front of me and just started scratching her chest where she likes it, as soon as she lifted her paw i grabed it and gave the command then threw the ball. it only took about 5 minutes, but now she shakes for everything.
  5. 39 ? Are your serious???? Well you can't say that you don't go to extremes down there. And I was only entered on Sunday afternoon as I couldn't get accomodation so I made the right call and didn't drive close to 4 hours for nothing - yay (I did sulk most of Sunday tho'!) I usually enter Bairnsdale (another of my favourite trials after Wangaratta and Warrnambool) but didn't this time as Easter came earlier and I didn't want to run a full weekend 2 days in a row. Looking at the forecast, that may get shut down too as I think the 'cut off' is now 35. Let's hope Easter brings some cooler weather for all the runs we are now going to have!!!!! The forecast for Bairsndale is supposed to be 29 for saturday and 32 for sunday but it keeps changing, hopefully it doesn't go up i think that it mat go down. the weather here today was supposed to be hot but it is very overcast.so with some luck we might have a good weekend for agility this weekend. is anyone else coming from here other than Whitka?
  6. i dont know how to move it :D oh well. i'm thinking it prolly wont be a very comp this year because its so close to easter, alot of people dont want to travle with easter the next weekend. but thats ok i guess. there will still be some great dogs to see, including Toby!
  7. i only know of people from my club. there is a kelpie, she will be in novice events i would think. and a border collie, though i dont know which class she will be in, they are quite good i guess. i dont know of anyone else from here though, no one else has replied to this thread ;) should be good though, i am really hoping to pick up some pointers. my dog is just pathetic at agility, she is such a worry wort, she wont go into the tunnle unless she can see the other end, and the dog walk, takes her forever to even get started on it! but she can weave and jump alright, so thats a bonus. do you know of anyone else who is going?
  8. thanks Lucknow, well i had a fantastic sleep... i got up about 3 or 4 times... i cant remember. he was drinking alot of water, and i guess it needed to go somewhere. then he learnt how to jump onto my bed, i have a very low bed mind you, and seeing as it was a warm night, he decided that he wanted to sleep right next to me, and sunggle up. so that was nice. the vets rang today and let me know that the op went well. that his leg is all fixed up. and that he was resting. so he will be coming home with me tomorrow. i am hoping for the whole time it takes for him to heal, but my cousin has other plans. he wants to take the dog home with him, which i guess i have no say in, but i know that he wont give him the care he needs to heal. i love my cousin, but when it comes to pets, he has no idea. he was more worried about the cost of the op than the well being of the dog. i'm trying to scare him into not taking the dog home till he is healed. just dont know what to say. i was thinking about ringing the RSPCA and telling them that the dog shouldnt be going home with him at the moment, because of his lack of care towards him. but i dont want to do that to my cousin. dunno. i might word then vet up tomorrow if i can and see if they can talk him into letting me care for him. well now i have had my ramble! thanks heaps for the support guys, i will keep you updated!
  9. i just dragged out the old puppy pen we use to have for our Jack Russle pups. with a few modifications, it sits nice in his squishy corner for when he comes back after having his leg fixed. and i take it by the face licking i am getting at the moment that he needs to pee. thanks god he was toilet trained!
  10. thanks heaps Lucknow. i am keeping him in my room and i am staying with him (gives me an excuse to lay in bed all day ) he is drinking plenty of water and eating a little but only out of my hand. i know that the vet x-rayed his leg, but i dont know what else he checked him for. he breathing is very short and sharp when he is awake, but i think that might be more to do with the pain in his leg... my Rottie helps him when i take him outside, she lets him lean in her when he is tired from hopping from tree to tree, seeing as i have another male dog here he has to pee on the trees, make it known he is there. with a bit of luck he will be all good after tomorrow. thanks again, i will give updates after the surgry tomorrow.
  11. hi everyone, ok so i have my cousins dog here with me, he was hit by a car yesterday and fractured his elbow. he had ran away from his house to come here, which means he had to cross the highway. the vets cant do surgery till tuesday because they dont have full staff on untill then (today being a public holiday).. i have never had a dog that has been hit by a car. so this is all new to me. his leg is all bandaged up and he cant move it at all. he is only 1 yr and 4 months old, so he is till very young. i have him confined to my room and he is only going outside on the lead for toilet breaks. he is not a biting dog, when the vet was checking him out yesterday and he felt his elbow, he let out a yelp then turned to lick the hell out of the vet. i just feel so usless, he cant tell me what is wrong or anything. we have wooden floors in the house, but i have laid blankets all over my room so he doesnt slip. i've set up a nice squishy corner for him with pillows and blankets for his to rest in i just dont know what else i can do for him. if anyone has any advice on what i can do then that would be much appreiciated. he will be coming back here after the surgry also (my cousin works all day then is busy most nights so he cant stay there) is there anything else i should be doing for when he comes home? thanks heaps!
  12. typical, we had a crappy cold summer and now its supposed to be autum its hot... i'm sure you will be fine! it ill be a hot day so the judges will be just as flustered as the owners and dogs...
  13. i'll try to put my hand up for the novice timing... yay! finally get to meet someone from here... good luck for the weekend! hope to see you there!!!
  14. ah cool. i'm from Bairnsdale, we were trying to clean up like mad today haha. i dont know which rings i will be in. i will be there all day saturday and sunday, so probably all over the place. i have never done it before. so hopefully i dont stuff it up. should be good though...
  15. Reall? where are you from? i am doing the time keeping over the weekend...
  16. Hi all, i was just wondering if anyone from here was coming to the Agility Trials in Bairnsdale on the 15th and 16th of March?
  17. thanks guys, i didnt really want to say anything on the day because we had alot of new people and alot to go through. Lablover: the dog was standing about half a meter away from her on the lead and she lept calling it name to pay attention to her. i spose i can just sort of enquire to the lady and ask her what it is for and everything. thanks again everyone
  18. at my club last saturday, there was a woman there with a long haired german sheppard. we were doing agility training and she had one of thoes citrus spray collers, the one where you press the button and it sprays the dog. well anyway. we were waiting in line to go through the tunnel and her dog was looking over the padocks and she was calling it and it wasnt looking at her, so she sprayed it. in our club, if you are negitive in anyway to your dog then you have to sit out. i guess my question is, should i be telling someone about this collar or not? i dont know if any of the trainers have seen the collar, but it doesnt seem right to me. or is this something of the norm for agility? ( i have only just started agility as of last saturday) Thanks! Emily
