I think if I had to do it again I would buy one with square trays. Mine is a fowlers Vacola and it works pretty well for meat and fruit (i usually just preserve the fruit) Also I would measure to see if the trays fit into the dishwasher.

Bye bye to Brandies babies, they were too good for us all.

In puppy problems we were discussing bait and treats. I dehydrate a big VIP puppy roll after being chopped into small cubes and my pugs love it! Does anyone else have any ideas for treats to share?

Ooh I'm in experiment mode with my dehydrator, I might have to try that one Does it dry right through? I tried hotdogs and they dried kind of wierd, still abit moist, but maybe I just didnt persist for long enough (it was about 24 hours I think) Sorry its a little OT They become dry and brittle, takes about a day and a half. with hotdogs, you are better off boiling them, slicing them and then dehydrating. Our little ones love dried apricots and plums also nice and chewy. Put one of those little oxygen absorbers from a pair of shoes in the bag, helps to contol mildew if not dry enough. Have tried frying sliced hotdogs before drying also - seems to work. Also sorry it's OT. will start a new thread.

We cut up a big vip puppy roll into small cubes and put them in the dehydrator. That way we know exactly what is in them and the lip smacking says they like them.. all their friends at the dogpark like them also! Nice and cost effective.

Years ago and old Indian lady said to try honey and turmeric (1 tablespoon of honey to 1/4 teaspoon of turmeric) cleared it up pretty quickly just administering when the coughing was happening on the end of a paddlepop stick. Years later I had Whooping cough and after coughing for six months with two broken ribs, a hernia and a split diaphram I thought I would try it on me - no more coughing after two days.. I used manuka honey and ground turmeric.

Try changing the type of bedding (texture). Our new little girl likes to wee on towels but not fleece or drybed. (found this out the hard way) So we have the fleece over her bed and a towel near the door of her crate and she goes there not if she can't hold on during the night.

Try putting his bed inside a large pillow protector. Stopped our pugs from eating their beds and keeps them cleaner. Just on ringworm - I got it from a kitten when I was six and I lost over half the hair on my head (down past my waist at the time) my kitten used to sleep on my pillow when I was at school and the ringworm was on the crown of my head 32 years later and I still hate that damn cat. I have friends that clean houses and they are always picking up ringworm. Very contagious. See a different vet.

My family love coprice and do really well on it. I often have to shoo the cats out of my dog food barrel as they are in having a munch.

We used D-Ter on our colourbond fences to keep the malamutes from headbutting them and jumping over them.. www.gardenexpress.com.au 100g mixes up to 2 litres of spray.. Even kept the cockies out of our orchard last year - bumper plum and almond crops!

I echo this one, but split his feeds into to smaller ones, half the evening one with some low salt beef or chicken stock mixed into plain gelatin.. they think they are eating heaps, then they just fart it out.. tee hee.. as long as they are still getting the nutrients they need in their other portion of the feed it is fine, but don't give more than a cup full of set gelatin per day. It used to keep the weight off of my Mals and works a treat for my pugs now.
