Think I will get the crate games dvd & can hopefully do recallers next time. Did you guys all get the 4 videos the other week where she showed the 'it's yer choice' game? Was good, I've been doing it with Hershel :) ETA I should really read the other posts then I'd see you guys were just talking about it!!! Lol -

I really wanted to sign up but have too many bills right now bah humbug! -
Also make sure you have money incase of an emergency. Hershel got kennel cough a week after I brought him home. Wasn't sure if it was kennel cough or something stuck in his throat so ended up spending a couple of hundred dollars getting him checked out!

I've got a few different treat dispensing toys but the favourite is the magic mushroom. Hershel loves it! http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00520EJXW?pc_redir=1404143558&robot_redir=1

So sorry to hear that Crits -
When I do it I usually get a little present from wherever they've been :) I'd never ask for money. I don't mind doing it too much but I am doing them a favour, I would rather be at my own house. I think a little gift is a good idea.

Have to agree with Nekhbet. $115 would get you nearly 8 one hour classes where I go. Hands on personalized knowledge from some of the best. I got my new pup last Saturday & started taking him to training Sunday morning, I could teach him everything at home sure but it's such a great opportunity for socialisation. To me socialisation is the most important thing to be doing with a puppy, commands can come later but you'll never get the critical period back again.

His show is on foxtel quite a bit. I can't help but watch & then get really angry lol He's also often a bit of a dick towards the owners, I don't think it's helpful to be rude to people when they're trying to do the right thing.

I HATE this guy. It's terrifying that he has a show & people believe the shit he says. He's written books too. I read something online about his explanation of learned helplessness - according to him it can occur if you carry your dog up stairs etc... How he teaches sit to a dog that has no prior learning - just kneck it till it puts it's bum on the ground.

Ooooh how exciting! What breed is your girl? (I'm on my phone so can't see sigs)
-
Hehehe Well I'm thoroughly converted! Have my heeler (although she is 17!) and was visiting my (soon to be) Aussie :D
-
Ooooh I was there on Saturday! I wanted to take that little heeler home with me!

Oh my goodness just one week of waiting left!

It's about the buyers not the sellers. If the demand is there someone will always fill it. People need to take responsibility. Dogs are not low maintenance. If someone wants a dog just to look nice in their backyard or on their lap & is not wiling to put in any time to fulfill the needs of the animal then I suggest a soft toy as a suitable fit for them,
