Coat Colouring Question
sugclasco replied to GoldiesRgr8Poodles2's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
my dogs get bathed once a week, but if you where to wash your dogs a few times at bath time in the places you have dyed it would come out faster ex if you use human shampoo. -
my cisco has a bit of hair in is ears and i have been told to pluck them out,but i am worried about doing this dont want to hurt the poor boy but dont want him getting sore ears either, his ears are kept clean but is this enough could i just cut the hairs shorter???

Coat Colouring Question
sugclasco replied to GoldiesRgr8Poodles2's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
manic panic is used at some places,i have used this on my own dogs and it works great, but make sure you use gloves ,if you dye their ears and tail like i do with mine use cling rap to stop the dye from going every where, with your poodle maybe a dark colour ,when she is clipped next keep some fur to do a test that way if the colour turns out shocking its not on her i also use this on my own hair sometimes and my hair is brown it still works but not as strong as it would on lighter hair, since she is a girl i would most likely pick a dark purple ,my hair is darker than her fur and it worked well, leave on for 20 minutes if not strong enough do again it should last around 1 month 1/2 ,you also may want to use plastic under the dogs and have some else there to help ,i put the dye on with gloves than my cusin is keeps her hans clean incase dye gets on the dog where it should be ,she than wets the hair and rubs in shampoo than wets and repeats untill the dye is out it is a bit of hard work but pays of in the long run we do it for special accations and have been useing manic panic for years .we bye ours on ebay good luck the colour used on sugar is hot hot pink -
i have hand raised a few puppies in my time (11 at once one time) i used di-vetelact but found the puppy bottle no good.....try useing a baby bottle worked a treat for me.

Toy Aggression Any Tips?
sugclasco replied to sugclasco's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
i lock him inside some times so the others can have a play ,i have also put him on a lead ,sugar is fanatical about fetching and if i take away the toys she will look for a stick or anything else that she can find which also makes it hard when we go to the dog beach or have friends over with dogs that are mainly larger than him which i worry about although they seem to back down, just hopeing their is some way to help him relise its ment to be fun so he can join in. -
Toy Aggression Any Tips?
sugclasco replied to sugclasco's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
he seems to want what ever toy one of the other dogs has ,he will drop the one he has to take the one the other dog has. -
I have a 8mth old jack russell x (Cisco) with bad toy aggression .........he takes the toy and runs and growls and as the other dogs love to play fetch and tug of war they chase him to get it back, the 11yr old female (sugar) just barks at him but today the 8yr old male (Clarince) was trying to get the toy from cisco and it ended up a a masive fight :D ,i let it go hopeing cisco would back down and it would work itself out but he didnt so i jumped in which took me a while to brake it up...... cisco will let me take the toy just not another dog . all dogs are desexed and have been they were since 6 mths ,if any one has any tips on stopping the toy aggression as poor sugar and clarince love these games and i would really like cisco to see the fun aswell

The slicker brush didnt cost much so i will invest in a good one along with a greyhound comb...Thank you both for your help

im having trouble with grooming my 8mth old jack russell x (as he was a rescue im not sure what he is x with does anyone have a guess?)i use a slicker brush but he doesnt like it ...it seems to hurt as he snaps at me ,if i use a normal soft brush he is fine but the soft brush just does not do the job ,his fur is corse and does not shed without me giving him a good brush ,5 min after brushing he looks like no one owns him again.......can anyone tell me what brush and shampoo i should be using? i have only ever owned short hair dogs so i would be really grateful for any advise.... and than he turns into this still handsome though.....
