She hasnt come out of a vehicle accident or house fire nearby from the last few weeks?

14-15 months is a long time to have this bad habit engraved into them. It will take a good break to stop it, for the next 6 months Id hang the washing somewhere else, or hang only when I was out there the whole time. Then hang it high and tight so, doubled over/doubled pegged so it cant flap at all. After a while the habit will hopefully slowly break and Id try going in for a coffee or a shower after a good mental stimulation session and leave it out slowly increasing the time. Are they only doing it morning or afternoons or middle of day? Ive had dogs that would leave it between say 11 and 3, but you leave it unsupervised from 3.30pm it was fair game, just need to work around it dont give them ANY chance to get near it. If it cant be hung on an indoor line overnight/day or somewhere else then hang the washing out just before your morning walk, it gives it an hour and a half, the dogs should leave it for a short while after the walk if they are supervised, then if not properly dry give them something to do even a bone. If its a fun game for them its not something they will just 'get over' for a while, gonna take a bit of creativity from you for 6 or maybe more months to break this habit they have got into.

There are alot of old line roodogs in WA, She does look like one. Im surprised she ended up in a petshop though if she is. You will have a large leggy girl when she grows up.

Does he totally seal the tarp shut with the dog locked underneath or leave a corner off that the dog sits in?

If your OH is a bit handy then a neat, light cage can be made from the security door mesh (second hand doors etc) and some angle. Use the angle to screw it together and cover the edges. Door made the same and hinges to attach it can be screwed on easily Like this mesh.. Can pick these up from salvage joints usually My cage is over the whole tray using steel tubing and mesh, welded and painted, with a full canvas canopy over it with zip up sides

A friend of mine had a little dog that started being terrified at the same time every night after dinner, took a few weeks of trial and error to work out it was the computer. She had got a noise fear from a computer game that manifested itself quickly to whenever she sat at the computer at night, game or not. A change in routine had her sorted but maybe one of your neighbours or nearby park has an auto sprinkler that makes a noise they are often on early hours of the morning and at the same time, an electrical device or noise that your dog detects and isnt comfortable with?(alarm system etc) A couple of nights away from your house may help- can you spend a night with a friend to see if it helps?

Cocker? Seems to fit the description ok? If its an inside dog they might want to think about hair too. Some of those thick haired breeds can leave hair that seems impenetrable to any vacuum

Sheena, there are alot of working whippets in australia and they work well. I cant see how it could be a popular rabbiting/hunting dog if it were prone to injuries in something like agility. I dont quite understand where the vet was coming from with that statement

I would send Odie to 'play' for a couple of days or a weekend, it will hopefully give you an insight on whether Odie will settle there and if you can handle not having him in the backyard when you spend time with your other dogs. Without having to make the decision of either stay or go- let him visit there, let the kids 'babysit' him for you and see how it goes

Just a quik answer for one of the last Q's. I travelled with my 2 dogs for a few months at the end of last year. I have a dual cab navara I got a full mesh and steel cage welded up to fit the tray of my ute. Then a canvas canopy made for that- similar to one I saw maybe last page? The sides roll up in 2 sections so I can have the front half rolled up and the back half down on each side I roll the sides up when its hot but leave the back down as when the back is also rolled up it seems to suck heat up off the road into the back- also leave it down on dirt roads as it does the same. The side doors are mesh and sliding so fully secure (and lockable) when canvas is rolled up. We did a few days of snow with 2 dogs in the back with and without dog jackets on- left the sides zipped down at night and it was warm as toast in there. (they had one of those big pillow sleeping things to share) Also travelled in 40-odd degrees and it was warm but not unbearable Got a flexiglass canopy on a holden ute here and after running and swimming my 4 dogs it can get pretty hot and humid in the back on the (short) drive home. Maybe bigger windows would help? But I dont use it much anyway Car isnt here at the moment to get pics sorry
