  7. Is this used like one would use Livamol, to improve coat colours ?? Hi Sheena I've used Livamol in the past for richer tan only thing was, and I learnt the hard way, if we keep the dogs on it too long it sent the black burgandy. So the dog we had it on shon black with burgandy tint in the sun, pretty but not a great look for a rottweiler. It was pretty funny when I hadn't noticed and turned up to a show and the sun came out and it looked like I had dyed the dog. Lucky he went back to normal after I discontinued giving him Livamol, took a little while though. Not sure if others have had this happen to Black dogs or I was just lucky.LOL. Thing was we never use to put that much in his tea Cheers Lee
  8. Hi Persephone We had an overseas judge recommend it for mouth pigment so I thought I would give it a try, I have nice rich coat colour in the boys but sometimes with stress, bitches in season etc get some pink in the corners of mouths. We use to use Ironcyclen years ago with mums Greyhounds but didn't even think to try it for this. Maybe I'l go and get some and see how it goes Cheers Lee
  9. Hi Does any body know if I can buy Elderberry and Nettle Extract for dogs in Australia, it's a liquid? I've seen it advertised on UK site and would like to try some but can't find it on Aussie sites. Cheers
  10. Hi Golden Girl My dogs checked as well, health all clear. To tell you the trueth some people might not even notice the difference in my dogs especially if they were in a kennel situation, besides the upping of food. But because our dogs are with us most of the time, back yard poo patrol and back yard full of holes and divets from them eating dirt, I noticed and then my Puppy people ring, talking adult dogs not babies. Too much coincidence. Like I said I'l see how they go on the next couple of bags, hopefully I got a bad batch. Most people, that spend a lot of time with their dogs, gut feelings usually serves them well. I hope no one is talking this personally, it's feed back, maybe a bad batch and all good now. Cheers Lee
  11. Firstly I will say I have had all my dogs and Puppy people on BH for quite a while now and had been extremely happy, so much so I had no problem recommending it to anyone that listen. Recently my dogs started not to do so well, almost like I had changed their food to another brand too quickly. I've had to increase by quite alot where previously I had to cut them all back due to them doing to good on it. I know it is winter but have never had to increase before as dogs are rugged, inside etc etc. Increase aside dogs started pooing heaps, lots of belly noises etc which has never been normal for my dogs on any food. Then they started to eat dirt, not just a little but clumps of it and also eating the grass roots etc. Missing something? Belly Ache? I don't know. I gave them some protexin and thrive D and they stoped eating dirt for a couple of days. Then a couple of people that have dogs from me have been ringing to ask if the food had changed, same issues, increased food, pooing a lot more and some eating dirt. I will add that I also feed fresh with dry but the other people don't buy their fresh from the same place as me so the problem shouldn't be there. One of my puppy people changed from BH because her bitch started pooing 4 and 5 time a day, not runny, normal looking but often, doubled her food but still lean and also eating dirt. It seemed like too much coincidence so I rang to check if anything in the food had changed but was assured there hadn't been any changes, so I'm at a loss, Maybe a bad batch? I am going to give it another bag or so, from new order, and see if they settle back to normal as previously I have been so happy with it in the past and had all my dogs on the same food (young and old dogs)I would really hate to have to look for something else, I hope it was just those couple of bags and they all go back to normal now. Let me add in no way am I trying to rubbish BH and am just sharing incase anyone else has any of the same issues and like I said I will be feeding a bag or two more to see how it goes Cheers
  12. You don't have to sell them the pup as long as you give them their money back Cheers Lee
  13. I'm sure it would be against their CC's COE to sell knowing of an illness and if the breeder is a member of a breed club they too often have this in their COE. This is taken from Dogs NSW Code of Ethics and I don't think the breeder has any defence because they know of the heart murmur so even if it might clear I guess the purchaser can argue the pup is of ill health so should not be sold or transfered 13. No dog should be sold or transferred in a state of ill health. It is a defence to any complaint against a member for contravention of this Clause if the Member proves that it was not reasonably practicable for the Member to know that the dog was in ill health at the time of sale or transfer. (08/11) Cheers Lee
  14. Thank westiemum. I think I will do that and see whether he likes it or not. I suppose we all learn and grow and we are trying to give our four legged friends the best we can. They definitely deserved it One thing though is he farts quite a fair bit and the smell is definitely not pleasant. Anyone has encountered this when they put their dogs on Artemis? p/s: he just farted while I’m typing this message... I have fed Artemis which I used to joke and call Fartemis. I now have all my rottweilers on Black Hawk which they are all doing really well on. I did have to cut them all back though as they were doing too well on it. It worked out a lot cheaper for me feeding 5 Rotts as the 20kg bags are cheaper than most premium, I pay $85.00, and I have halved all their dry food. Body condition, coats etc are really good. I do add some raw to their diet as well. My male who is nearly 8years old is jumping out of his skin and is still being shown where he didn't always do great on some of the other foods I tried and my 10 month old has been on the Black Hawk adult since he was about 6 months old and doing well on it. It has been so much more convenient feeding them all the same food where as in the past I had different dogs on different food and it was doing my head in when I found a dry I liked and then they would change it or it would become too pricey for me. The dogs I have now on Black Hawk Adult range from 10 months to 10 Years with no problems so I really hope this food doesn't change anytime soon. Cheers Lee
  15. We are currently buying Herm Sprenger black small linked fur saver. We have used the Herm Sprenger curogan and stainless small linked in the past for the rottweilers at the specialty shows as you can use them as check or put them on dead lock with the lead clip as the links are big enough for this but not as ugly/ bulky as the long link fur saver. We are going to try the black now as it will look nicer on the rotts but the Curogan looks nice on them too. I think I remember reading The Black is not supposed to chip away as it is through the metal. The small link fur saver or bitch link as we call it is still pretty enough on the big dogs for all breed shows. They come in lots of sizes. Heidi Youle (Freelance Pet Rep) supplied our curogan ones and she is seeing if she can get the black stainless in the small link aswell. They are good quality and I've used them on my adult males without any problems. They also had the black short link fur saver on ebay from UK company and I think if you go into their shop they have black normal check links as well. hopefully the link works so you can have a look http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/HS-Black-Stainless-Steel-Short-Link-Fur-Saver-4-0mm-/250809370340?pt=UK_Pet_Supplies_Dogs&var=&hash=item801052eac5 Cheers Lee
  16. I was told they were going into liquidation/ out of business (something along those lines), and so they couldn't sponsor a show anymore, that they used to be regular sponsors of, because of this. Cheers Lee
  17. Thanks, not sure of Vets all natural as I haven't used it but so far I found the oil to be better than any powders I have tried Cheers Lee
  18. You could try Green Lipped mussel Oil (Oil not the powder) there are different types so watch what is added to the oil and look for a good strength. This one is about $44.00 (for 50 capsuls) with delivery from NZ I give 1 a day for around a month and then cut down to every couple of days depending on the dog. http://www.lyprinol-arthritis.com/buy+lyprinol+nz+greenlipped+mussel+arthritis+buynow Cheers Lee

  21. I Get Jim Gill from Austral or Blair Kurtz from Quakers hill to do the xrays and then get them to send them to Rawlinson for scoring. So I pay them the total bill which includes GA, Xrays and Rawlinsons fee.Just asked them to add your email addy to the paperwork so you get the results via email as well. Or you can get them to do the xraying and then you send them yourself to Rawlinson with his fee. So far I've always had good xrays from these guys Cheers Lee
  22. Yep I used him as well, very fast and if you give your email addy they will email results and let you know paper work is on it way back. I think it was about $110.00 for Hips and Elbows Cheers Lee
