How old is your dog? Can you remember if anything happened while you were in the car - eg car horns, loud trucks, that might have triggered it. Sometimes it's not obvious to us what is setting the dog off either. Is he fine approaching the car, it's just when he's in it and the car is moving that there's a problem? Is he harnessed or crated in the car?

I don't think you've caught his best side there Erny!! Excellent photography and tail management skills there!! It looks like small bite sites, like ants or something like that IMHO. Our training grounds are full of ants nests and we have to be vigilant when doing stays and stands that we're not near ants' nests, but sometimes they still get bitten. -
He is just too cute for words! Looks like he's getting on with the rest of the family too!

No suggestions, I'm sorry but hope your little one picks up soon.

Bloody Drinkers And Their Bloody Glass Bottles
Jigsaw replied to Kirislin's topic in General Dog Discussion
Hope he heals quickly and can go for walks again soon. I'm always on the lookout for glass when we walk around our lake area, my girl loves to swim so I worry about glass in the water that I can't see. -
Lovely photos!!! They seem to match each other so beautifully in looks and personality!

Had you sprayed the house/kitchen before he had his dinner when he had the initial reaction? I'd still be observing his behaviour for a while just in case there's some other trigger(s). The flyspray must've offended his sensitive nose! Some of them are pretty potent to us so I imagine they're awful for dogs. ETA: (fs) and to add: I do know of a dog who went off his nut barking when his owners sprayed - they tried to tell me he was protecting them from it because he knew it was bad. Oh dear lord!

So sorry to hear that there's nothing more to be done for little Charlie. Is there any research on humans with vanishing bone disease that you can look at or can you contact human drs about it? Definitely try some other routes like chinese medicine, acupunture, may give him some relief if nothing else. Have a look on THIS website for handicapped pets. A plethora of harnesses, wheelchairs, bootees, braces for our pets!

Is there another entry to the kitchen that you can use? As in bring him in on lead through another door, walking quickly, turn around and go straight back out again. Then reward. Although I think I'd probably just leave him for a while and ignore the behaviour and feed him elsewhere and when using the kitchen use a happy voice to talk to him (even if he's not in the room), ignoring the bad behaviour and reward good behaviour such as eye contact. Was there anyone else in the room with him at the time or another animal?

Wonderful news!!! Sounds like he's relaxed enough to want to play. Well done!!

Good news!! Hope he gets over it all quickly! He looks like a hairy cucumber with the yuck bit cut out in your photoshop pic!!

Behaviouralist Who Operates In Gloucester Nsw
Jigsaw replied to KKDD's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
Don't know of any in that area I'm sorry. APDT search here trainer but I don't know how far away they are but might be worth a phone call. -
My girl loves the water, it's probably her ultimate reward!! She just paddled as a puppy and as she got a bit bigger and braver she plunged in and was swimming. Last week she went into the lake and just swam up and down for about 20 mins while I walked up and down the shore. She wasn't going to come in until she was ready. People are often surprised at her as when she wants me to throw her toy she stands on her back legs in the water and barks at me!!
-
Congratulations!!! He's a little cutey. I love the rough coats! You're going to have so much fun with him!! So tell us what swayed your decision between the two pups in the end?

He's waiting for them to pop out??? ;) Maybe some charcoal tablets for the speshal boy!

There's the local obedience club at Hillsborough and Port Stephens Club is at Raymond Terrace. Hillsborough signs up first Sunday of the month, big numbers in the lower classes. They also run motivational training (positive training) in an 8 week course at the club. Are you after obedience training or just training in general? Have sent you a pm.

I've seen BC crosses with them but don't know what other cross is. Also seen rottie with double dew claws (floppy ones). In some breeds it's in the standard that they have back dew claws. I don't think I've ever seen the non floppy ones on back legs though!
