  1. I've said a prayer for Jed's surgery to go as well as possible today May all her dogs who've passed be watching over her surgeons making sure they are taking the very best care of their Master.
  2. There is a large BP travel stop at Caboolture on the Bruce Highway that has many travellers through each day. Could flyers be posted/handed out there? Someone visiting family in the area may come across Magnus on thier travels or pass on the word to the family they are visiting. Also I know a lot of locals stop in there for coffee and takeaway food on the way to and from work. That did it . same here
  3. I'll be lighting a candle for Jed and all the dogs who went to the bridge this morning. For those not able to physically light a candle, you can light a virtual candle and leave a message or prayer here http://www.gratefulness.org/candles/enter.cfm?l=ENG eta there is an option to put in group initials - I used DOL on my candle.
  4. Oh My God sitting here in tears. Julie, you've had so many generous offers of care for the dogs and probably already have enough offers but I have room for a cavailer or two here if need be. I'm not in Brisbane though, about 3hrs north of Caboolture. I'm sending prayers to you Jed.
  5. Does the Fraser Coast pound sell unclaimed dogs to the public? I know that Bundaberg pound won't
  6. Yes, yes they will BUT if this is the only way your old girl can still enjoy the sights, sounds and smells of a walk, when her legs are not good enough to carry her, then good on you for letting her come with you
  7. Oh noes, Saxonpup entered off topic almost 5 hours ago.............and not a post made since
  8. Hope you recover quickly Fern Cavalier licks and kisses being sent your way from Milo and Holly
  9. I made a mistake, just watched the story again and he said it would be like losing 3 members of the family, not a child as I said in my other post
  10. He didn't appear to be but then he never actually even mentioned the little dogs who were killed, he was never asked if his dogs did it. It was a bit strange. I was strange wasn't it? If he believed his dogs hadn't done it though, wouldn't he be denying it rather than not saying anything at all? I wonder if ACA didn't let him know they were also interviewing the owner of the killed dogs? Maybe the owner of the 3 cross breeds thought the story was just going to be about himself and how far he will go to save his pets.
  11. He didn't appear to be sorry at all that his dogs had killed the others. What struck me was that he said he would fight tooth and nail to stop his dogs from being PTS because it would be like losing a child - really mate? maybe that's how the owner of the chi's felt when he and his wife found their 5 babies ripped apart?
  12. I saw this on A Current Affair last night. It was so sad to see the older gentleman who had lost his beloved pets I'm pretty sure all of his chi's were show dogs, he said the oldest one was an Aus Ch. The poor man was understandably very emotional. The owner of the 3 offending dogs, who will now probably be destroyed, came across as real d*ckhead and his poor dogs will pay the price. They showed his new staffy running around with his toddlers, but he still has BROKEN FENCES that the new dog was running straight through. Some people are so incredibly stupid they will just never learn
  13. If inadequate fencing had been an issue, why would the RSPCA allow the woman to foster the horse in the first place.....for 7 months? Perhaps the RSPCA are not responsible rescuers? hmmmmm
  14. It is such a sad reality. God it's confronting to actually watch an animal take it's last breath This footage should be broadcast on TV so that people are made to realise exactly what happens to all those unwanted animals. I think a lot of people want to believe that the animals in pounds and shelters are all found homes and live happily ever after, sadly that's not the case
  15. RIP poor little baby I hope the surviving dog now finds a wonderful forever home....... .....and the @r$eh0le who did this is caught and dealt with to the full (although not nearly harsh enough) extent of the law
  16. Well of course, it stood out like dogs' balls as completely inappropriate and irrelevant to the story. Oh, I agree. The comment on crossing the DDB with a pittbull has no bearing on this story at all, it seemed like an unusual thing to say to me as well.
  17. Uh huh. RSPCA QLD I wondered how long it would take for someone to comment on that quote.
  18. I am afraid that this may not be the first time this sicko has done this Last November 2 pet staffies went missing from Bargara and were found at Burnett Heads (all costal communities surrounding Bundaberg, as is Moore Park where the Dogues went missing from). The staffies were found alive but were so severely beaten that the female had to be PTS. The treating vet said that the females injuries were consistent with sexual abuse They haven't caught the person scum who did that so I am wondering if this latest attack on pet dogs could be the same person. The following link appeared in the local newspaper back in November last year. http://www.news-mail.com.au/story/2009/11/...age-these-dogs/
  19. Front page story in my local newspaper this morning I just can't imagine how someone could kill anything, but 2 dogs the size of Dogues, gah it's so hard to comprehend My heart goes out to this family It's bloody scary to think whoever did this is walking around in our community. http://www.news-mail.com.au/story/2010/04/...ore-park-beach/
  20. Oh Jules Poor Renae. I hope she is well enough to come home today
