Last 4!! Mobile Stamp Car Best Friends Thanks for another great month, and letting me participate with my crappy camera. I have a birthday coming up, (=$$) so maybe I will invest in a decent digital camera. My last SLR , many moons ago, was a Pentax, but I have learned here that it's now between a Canon and a Nikon. So thanks to all your amazing photos, it will be easier to decide.

I was wondering about that too... odd angle, BUT it looks like an old glass insulator from when telephone lines were strung between poles- the insulators stopped the wire touching wood or metal. There were glass and porcelain ones. Not 100%sure Persephone you are spot on! It is an old amethyst insulator which I use as a paper weight!

I think a lot of my garden shrivelled up and died in those hot dust storms yesterday. Dog School was a write-off too! I apologise for not commenting on everyone's stuff. Just know that it's all great and inspirational. Today my theme was purple. and

More inspiring pics from you all today. Those sunsets are amazing and I want one of those meringues right about now. The family portraits are fantastic. It's hard enough sometimes with 1 dog - I don't know how you do it with several. Today, after dog school while gardening, I found a stump from an old rhodedendron, and found all the rotten bits a bit fascinating. I knew right in the centre there was a very shiny black spider, but when uploaded and enlarged, can now see a tiny red dot on it's back - so glad I didn't annoy it. "Back To School" "Rotten to the Core"/ "Redback in the Core" "Rhody Bark" For those who asked about my Orchid shots - it's a Phalaenopsis Orchid, and hopefully the other 2 buds will open completely and I'll have a stike with 6 flowers in the bathroom.
