trust me if cavnrott had wished to be rude you would have walked away with your own bladder in your hands. Get your dog to a vet - a UTI is treatable but if left untreated can be deadly

Uh what do you expect them to be fed on - chicken? Mad chicken disease -
Um IR - where is the proof of this? While I agree that red meat can and does cause allergies the reason APPEARS to be because of the type of protein - not some witchcraft having to do with heating up the blood

My dog has had a wound on his backside for months. It started when one of the other dogs grabbed him. She took a chunk of hair with her and there was no wound. Now months later there is a weepy sore. It was a hole looking thing, then a wound, then a scab, then it was a sore. Vets have looked at it and dismissed it. I'm trying betadine on it but frankly my question is - any ideas why it hasnt healed for MONTHS? He has been on cortisone and antibiotics during that time and otherwise not much else Just above the wound is a little lump - feels solid - no pain - hasn't grown since i first saw it - no colour to it We are back at the vets next week but just wondering why it hasn't healed??

you said in another thread you were looking for raw dog treats - cut the tongue up with a veggie slicer and voila

Ok - so let's assume dogs are carnivores and should be fed on a meat based diet. I have an older dog - over 10 - large breed. I fed a meat based diet and was told the protein levels were too high for a dog his age. If I can't feed carbs and I can't feed protein am I expected to feed lard or is my dog expected to be a breatharian?

Clickers, Is One Better Than The Other?
HeartandSoul replied to Norskgra's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
i click all the way. There used to be one called a megaclick and I loved that but it's not longer made You can also get a clickstick - I love the clickstick -
Your club probably knows already but it can't hurt to ask. Just say. I saw so and so with this collar - what is it, how does it work? Then if they do and it is an aversive, you can say - well isn't that against our rules?

Have you tried putting her on Hills ID short term? Its very good for settling stomachs ProPlan Salmon and Rice gave one of my dogs the roaring trots and upset the stomach of another one over time.

I just got some blood test results for one of my dogs. His liver enzymes are high - believed to be a result of long term cortisone. We are doing more tests this week to confirm this. Assuming it is nothing more insidious than that, are there any natural supplements that will aid his liver in coping with the cortisone??? His white cell count is also high but it was last blood test 6 months ago - the cortisone is again blamed for that. vet said I had the option of leaving it and just assuming it was the cortisone but Im not going to wait for it to be an acute attack before I do anything. At least if the tests show there is a prob, we xray and find the starts of a tumor there is a chance of saving him. If it was and I did nothing I couldnt forgive myself. So off to the vet for a day - morning test, feed, afternoon test - he will love that not!

I like to take my dogs to the vet for a "visit" so that they dont always think they're going there to be poked and prodded. For instance if i got to buy flea meds, there is usually a dog attached - they come, they get cuddled, they leave
