It's possible they are just uploading to another site other than youtube, like photobucket.com

Oh that's a shame, I didn't see that part. I just watched yesterdays episode online, the shelter worker actually mentioned something about matching lifestyle to dogs, and something about the dogs being unwanted christmas presents. Seems a little backwards that they then sold one to be given as a present (although the adoption happened off camera) It was funny to see a kelpie tonight, I've been looking at kelpies all day (one of the breeds I'm looking at getting) I wonder where the pup is from? :)

I don't usually watch the show but saw a very cute puppy as I went past the TV and couldn't look away Apparently the previous Neighbours dog recently passed away from cancer. http://neighbours.com.au/9095.htm http://www.digitalspy.com.au/soaps/s14/neighbours/news/a363350/neighbours-unveils-kyles-new-pet-dog-bossy.html Gorgeous pup! Hopefully not too many people will go out and get a Kelpie cause it was on TV

I'm still shocked by the number of adults I see doing things like this, its unbelievable. I've seen people walk up driveways past the front door to stick their hand through a gate or fence to pat a strange dog. Or through a cracked open car window.

I've seen Mark Singer recommended several times on this board for SA. http://caninetraining.com.au

Oh gosh how horrible A similar thing happened to me when I was a child. I used to take my pet rabbit out with me on a little harness. I got into the car once holding my rabbit and not realiseing the end of the lead was trailing out the door. I had literally just undone the harness and taken the loop over my rabbits head when the lead got caught under the back wheel and was ripped out of my hands through the bottom of the door. I shudder to think what might have happend if I had not taken his harness off :(

Thanks guys, sounds good! I'm not too keen on working in that kind of heat either (I work outside) so wouldnt expect a dog too  Edit to remove Q's. Found answers in the Aussie breed sub forum ;)

Hey Guys Do Aussies cope well in the heat? It can get into the 40s quite easily here in SA summer.

I recommend removing the link from your post. It is free advertising for them.

Definitely a few holes in the story hmm. I don't think anyone is sticking up for puppy farmers, only discussing the inadequacy of the proposed laws and the negative effects they could have on ethical breeders. If anyone is sticking up for puppy farmers they need to have their head checked... or a DNA test to see if they are related to Don Burke.. ;)

Unless I'm misunderstanding, the general point of the story is 'don't buy from puppy farms' after which she purchases Oscar from the exact farm she is condemning, for $400?

Deer Antler sounds interesting. I don't know much about how they are obtained, are there welfare issues to consider when purchasing them? -

Thats interesting Janba. I guess I assumed that since merle is masked you might not get the health issues but I guess it is still expressed in other ways, whether masked or not. That explains it JulesP Thanks! ETA Thanks for the Link Vickie. Reading it now

Hi guys , I was going to ask this in the Border Collie thread but I'm sure merle and ee Red exist in other breeds, so thought It would be better here? A bit of backgound.. I love colour genetics! I play a Web Game about Showing Dogs. There is a coding error in the game that causes all Red Border Collies to "carry" Merle regardless of if its impossible or not. Ie all parents are colours that would show merle and none are merle. Cryptic Merle does not exist in the game. I was having a discussion with someone about ee Red to ee Red breedings, knowing that both parents are masked Merles, and it has me a bit puzzled. (I understand in real life this sort of pairing could be a bad idea, or at least a mask colour to a merle.. currently colours do not affect health in game though alot of people try to avoid it on principle) Anyway its peaked my intrest on real life colours regarding masks and double merles. I assume there must be such a thing as a double merle Red Border Collie. (obviously you would do your best to avoid it?) I am wondering if anyone knows if this causes health problems, or if it is linked purely to the excessive white? Does ee Red (or any other masking colour) mask double merle? Just curious :D ETA: The forum changed my ee in the title to Ee.. how inconvenient

I've learnt heaps from other peoples rants.. It's far less confronting and easier to learn from rants about other people than to be ranted at directly For every person that posts on these forums theres probably 100 that just read. Its difficult to comprehend how much I've learnt just from reading Kudos DOLers, rant away! :D
