Hi Fozzie I hav a 6.5month old Goldn Retiver, Bailey. When we started puppy class, he use to go nuts too seeing the other doggies- our instructor said to pick them up and hold them in our arms for a minute until they settle down as they then need to relax and give in to you rather than being dominat.It worked but as you said at 14weeks and 14kgs it gets a bit hard you seem to be doing the right thing anyway

Hi kristin_e102 I have a 6.5month old Golden Retriver, Bailey who does exactly the same thing I fill his huge water bowl up before I go to work, and come home to find itupside down out in the yard- Obviously it entertained him for a while I'm sure. We too use the clam shells - bought a set (2 sides) from Kmart for $24. Always have one filled for him in the case of emergency- such as empltying his water bowl. Plus he sits in the when he' hot too. The other half gets filled with sand so he has a designated digging area Hope that helps AJP

Hello!!! Everyone has thier own opinion- I personlly have only just added pet insurance for my 13week old puppy, but at the moment no insurance for my two cats. I just had to pay over $1200 for my 2yr old cat when he dislocated his hip by getting caught in a fence about 2 months ago. I will be looking at adding him to the plan aswell as other cat in very near future. Only reason I have not done so before was financial circumstances. My friend refuses to pay pet insurance, instead puts like $10 a week away into a savings acocunt to cover an emergency. Depends on individual circumstances
