Oster, Wahl or Andis. Tell her to get a good set of dog clippers made for dogs.(not human ones) Challenge Dog Supplies sells all of these brands. But don't expect a professional finish, just because you have the right clippers. Alot of people think they can save money and buy a set of clippers and clip there pet, instead of going to the groomers. They end up finding out the hard way its not as easy as it looks. There is alot of work and knowleadge that goes into grooming all breeds, but poodles are one of the hardest to groom properly.

Grooming Job Question...
roxyporsha replied to aquaticmalamute's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Looks great to me but a few tips that might help i would hire anyone that could do a mally lol so much coat flying out when you blow-dry ahhh it like show Tips- Before and after photos. Make a photo album of all the grooms you do. That way they can see your work Add in the Breed you own and show. Also that you can handle large breeds. Look into grooming other breeds read read read what is required for every breed and there standards including pet clips and show clips. , note the difference. If you can practice your clippering even on friends dogs it a leg up into ruff clipping. Learn as much as you can about different coat types and how to groom them. If you are in the dog world you have a leg up because you understand how to handle dogs already. -
What Do You Think Of Colouring /dying Dogs

Food colouring does not hold in coat, try pet esthe or dyex Thanks for all your post guy! Good to learn what people think I use only dyex or pet esthe they are approved for dogs and make the coat and skin lovely. I love colouring my dog and from her reaction i don't think she minds at all if i like to spunk her up a bit and she loves the attention it gets, all those extra hugs. I was out and about the other weekend at a dog expo as such and i was surprised to see the kids that didn't want to pat other dogs cause they were a bit afraid but came up to my little pink girl and asked for a pat. I also had very few bad comments only a couple, but they we more wanting to know if i used safe product so I was happy for that. I think that if you colour be aware to use pet approved products. Also be understanding that some people my think that it is cruel and just think when you get a bit upset by that as I have in the past at least they care about dogs. I think that if you disagree with people that colour there dogs and hey i understand it is not for everyone. Before you have a bad comment just think would you prefer to see that dog in the hands of some one that never gets the dog groomed I know what I would prefer -
Jed you need to post that at every pets paradise store with there all natural innova crap. BTW love it very true and a good way of putting it really sunk into me. I will be taking to my teacher at tafe that teaches nutrition as she loves science diet and used to make us compare labels to see how good dog food was.

not the black part but the gold you can, but depends on the dogs coat too.i find dyex works best for dogs that aren't white. But Like our hair some coats take colour better than others. -

i really thought more people would think it was cruel as i have had some nasty comments when walking my dog. If people are rude i just ignore them as i would never hurt my dog in any way shape or form. I only use dog approve pet esthe or dyex dog colour on them and have never had ill affects to them or there coat. Here is a before and after of my pound puppy i think she looks better and she loves the attention it gets her anything for a pat. But some of my friends do think i am weird lol i surpose i am . But i think she is beautiful and so does she. -
