  1. How is he going on his current food? Do have you any ideas of what set him off? Have you just recently wormed?
  2. They can give an injection before to make sure a reaction does not happen.
  3. I wouldn't be to worried. From my experience they usually are a little lethargic and sooky after vaccinations.
  4. If you mean a reaction that causes facial swelling and itching then I am pretty sure it's an antihistamine injection they give approx 5 to 10 mins before the vaccination injection.
  5. If your yard is puppy proof and your other dog is fine with him then I wouldn't have a problem leaving him outside with her.
  6. Lets hope it was a once off. You don't by chance have one of those airfreshener things that emits a spray evey few minutes? Someone else, who's dog had a once off fit, had just installed one when the fit occured. Needless to say they chucked it out.
  7. If I see a face puffiing up I always either give antihisamines (Claratyne) or Prednil (vet only medication). The swelling has always subsided without a trip to the vets. Not sure if bee allergies are gentic. What you should watch for - Swelling in the muzzel Swelling around the eyes Difficulty breathing What you should do - Either choose to administer antihistamines yourself or go to the vets Some people say that an icepack applied to where the sting was, if you can find it, is helpful.
  8. I've fed 1kg puppies a BARF diet so feeding a 3kg dog should be no problems. With the pugs I chop the chicken necks up into quaters or thirds. With the puppies I used minced chicken carcusses instead of the necks.
  9. Ohh long toe nails. I am suprised your vet put her in a cast. Most vets I've spoken to are very hesitant to cast a growing dogs leg/foot as it stops the muscles and tendons developing properly and learning to correct problems themselves.
  10. Does her condition look anything like these examples? Deformities
  11. How often do you bath and brush? The flaky black pugs I have seen are ones that haven't been brushed or bathed for ages. Could also be diet related.
  12. Just as in humans dogs will throw up something their body doesn't agree with. Doesn't mean anything is wrong with them it's just the bodys way of getting rid of something it can't deal with. The pugs will do it once or twice a year so no not a common occurance.
  13. Good idea for them to check in on her. If you fed a chicken wing in the evening it could just be her throwing up a piece of it she couldn't digest.
  14. What did she eat last night? What time did you leave home this morning? I probably wouldn't have fed her this morning. If it was just a once off vomit at 4am it sounds like she should be fine. If she had continued to vomit I would be worried. Every now and again my pugs will have a vomit to get rid of a bit of bone they can't digest. Years ago when I used to give my boy puggy pigs ears he would vomit afterwards because they are two fatty.
  15. What? Your going to get her blood tested? How often is she drinking? How much is she drinking? Is she running aorund alot? Is she peeing alot? I highly doubt she has something wrong with her. If she is a very active dog, which you have described her as in previous posts, she is going to go and guzzle water. Many pugs do and seeing that she is a pug x she obviously has pug trates. This is what happens when you are unfamiliar with breeds, you think thigs are wrong when they are not. I foster only pugs and pug x's because they are my breed and I know their funny little ways and what is normal and what is not. When to worry and when not to.
  16. If you are going to socalise your puppy earlier make sure it is with other dogs that you know are healthy and vaccinated and in a location that you know does not have any diseases.
  17. He is to cute. Is the warth thingy on the inside of his mouth or outside? If it's on the inside it could be caused just by trauma. I would be pretty sure the smell is from teething but the lump/wart might be something a vet should check out.
  18. Last puppies I had I used a hot water bottle but put it under towels. These heat pads tha you warm up in the microwave look good. Heat Pad Personally I wouldn't bother with a ticking clock. I would be more inclined to put a soft toy in there to act as a litter mate and a towl/blanket that has your smell on it.
  19. Dried liver & cut up raw veggies & fruit.
  20. A 17 week old pup with a metalic smell coming from his mouth I would suspect it's caused by him teething. How old was he when you adopted him?
  21. Just a thought. DABS might possibly have the numbers of groomers willing to groom their rescue dogs for free or at a greatly reduced price.
