Leave them. If your dog has to go under General Anasthetic for some reason in the future and they are still there they they can be removed if they are causing problems.

Crazy stupid owner. Pug sounds like it ate more then a 1/4 of a codein tablet.

Large Amounts Of Milk In A Puppy Diet

That would be my bet. That they are getting to much to eat/drink so growing to quickly. -
Puppy Medication, De-sexing
puggy_puggy replied to Matthew_B's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
You want to look for a product or products that will cover your dog for heartworm and the intestinal worms which are roundworm, hookworm, whip worm and tapeworm. If you have fleas in your area then you may want a product to cover that as well. Speak to your breeder and your vet about these things. -
Check out ebay as well.

Hundereds of dogs are chipped wide awake every day at vets without any problems. Many states now have laws that all breeders have to microchip their puppies before they are sold. These pups are under 8 weeks and have no problems. I had my boy done years ago when he was about a year old and he screamed before the needle came near him but he is a total sook. I had my girl done, again years ago, when she was under 6 months old and she didn't bat an eyelid. I have had other pugs done, whilst awake, and they didn't care really. Maybe a vet can comment but I don't think I have ever heard of local anesthetic being used for microchips. If the dog is going to bite someone when it has a microchip inserted it will bite them when they have the LA needle. Muzzel your dog if you think it may cause problems but I doubt there will be any.

Yes you can get paw paw ointment either in a red tub or red tube from health food shops or even the supermarket in with the aspro's etc. All of her pads look very rough. I think there was a topic on here recently about rough pads and the dog lacking something.

Large Amounts Of Milk In A Puppy Diet
puggy_puggy replied to J...'s topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Knuckling is caused by an imbalanced diet and can also be caused by overfeeding. Cut the food back and fix the diet and the problem should resolve very quickly. Unless it is another problem that is called early growth plate closure. -
You could hire a dog walker/sitter to come and check on your pup and feed it at lunch time.

Claratyne Dosage For Grass Itchy Dog
puggy_puggy replied to daccydog's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Had a 5kg pug on half a claratyne once a day. Have given one to two claratynes in the cases of allergic reactions to pugs under 10kg. -
Got my rubber one that fits over the tap from Coles in the cleaning and washing isle.

I guess my thinking is that I would get bored if I had to eat the same thing every day and in the wild dogs wouldn't have access to the same foods every day. Also some things take longer to digest then others. I am not a fan of oats either and Greenies are full of lots of stuff that can set itchie dogs off.

Paw paw ointment might help. Put some on and bandage like you have been doing already. I would probably keep her from running around to much for a few days as well.

Diet sounds good. Is their skin getting whiter? I can remember that on eof them had lots of black/brown yucky skin that was slowly going lighter. Are you mixing that stuff all up together into one big batch? I probably would seperate it a little and feed different stuff on different days.

I would be putting up a fence inside your fence so that your dogs can get no where near the nextdoor neighbours. Yes F10 is what most vets use to disinfect.
-
Could it be entropion (eyelashes rolling into the eyes and irritating them) that is the underlying problem that is causing the boogies? Are you dogs eyes clear or do they have brown scaring/pigment on them? Sometimes the weather can make dogs have more eye snot/boogies but I would be worried if this continued for more then a week.

It takes at least a month for the hormones to reduce. Humping mostly a dominant learnt behaviour. Tell him off when he does it otherwise it will become an annoying habit.
-
I would also feed a puppy three meals a day untill they were at least 5 to 6 months old. Do some searching on BARF and RAW feeding. Veggies should be mainly green leafy ones that have been put through the food processor to break down the cellulose walls. This is a great BARF website Meat should be raw and you have to make sure to include bones as well.

Not Sure If This Is Reflux?
puggy_puggy replied to poodle proud's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
He's not going to grow out of it then. On of my ex foster pups had reflux but has grown out of it thankfully. She would do little throw ups in her mouth after eating and it didn't matter what she was fed. Has he done it all his life and on every type of food you feed? Hyated Hernia's can be a cause of reflux. -
Not Sure If This Is Reflux?

How old is Osca? Puppies can have reflux that they grow out of. -
Perhaps investing in a puppy pen and a crate could help with time outs. It helps if you have two pug pups at the same time because they annoy eachother.

Make sure you neighbours wash their hands and take their shoes off before the come into your house and in contact with your dogs. Don't take your dogs over to their house. I think that there is a very very bad strain of parvo going through all of the Victorian pounds (RSPCA & Lost Dogs Home included) at the moment.

Blood In My 8 Week Old Cavalier King Charles Poo
puggy_puggy replied to cavalierlover's topic in Puppy Chat
Keep an eye on her poo. If the blood persists over the next few days and/or she doesn't seem herself vet visit is needed. -
Heat lasts for approx 3 weeks. Vets usually like to wait at least 2 weeks after they have come off heat to desex. I suppose it's your friend call as if she wants to desex straight away or wait. $280 is on the upper end of normal price range for desexing a mature bitch of that size.

Bugger. That stuff is expensive.
