  1. I cook up kangaroo sausages for mine, no way will I snack on them they stink :D .
  2. Sounds like Daisy has a real talent for scent discrimination, see training a Beagle does have advantages .
  3. Sophie cracked me up yesterday. I'd set up four witches hats in a rectangle to practice our turns but she remembered the last time I set them up I had food under each one and as we heeled around them I'd lift one up and release to the food, so anyway she comes running over to one of the cones and is scratching at it madly with her little claws it was so cute and funny, I was cracking up and Banjo likes to push them over .
  4. I have one of those tug pouch things you can put food in that I've never used so today I started the dogs off retrieving it. Sophie was a star, went out and got it each time and brought it back to my hand, Banjo wasn't such a natural, I was happy when he picked it up even if only for a second.
  5. If you left it out he would destroy it. I have a collection of 'special' toys which are kept in the dogs toy box that I get out when I can supervise them and for training.
  6. He walks them along the river in Woodbridge. He has three of them, all the same colour as your boy, and I caught the name of one 'Ethan' . Sophie just wanted to wrestle them and they were like help!
  7. Hey RubyStar I see a guy walking three English Setters at one of our walking spots. Very calm submissive dogs, I think maybe too soft in temperament for me but most people would love that. I think you should get a black Lab so you have one of each .
  8. I didn't get to pick Banjo and he's the perfect dog where as I picked Sophie and she's nuts .
  9. Banjo with his i-squeak . Sophie looks real excited . http://www.youtube.com/user/Tiggystaff
  10. I just did the 'find it' game with pieces of cheese. It was fun, I've never asked the dogs to find anything before, it was cute watching them sniffing. Sophie went a bit nuts at first, offering hand touches, drops then scratching me but then caught the smell of the cheese.
  11. I thought the knurled were round and the other ones were flat.
  12. huski did you end up getting the flat or knurled metals?
  13. Oh my god Kenzie has really long tail hair .
  14. Are the knurled metals better than the flat ones? I thought maybe they're easier for the dog to pick up and what's a seek back article? Thanks .
  15. Don't worry Tassie I haven't trained the dumbell yet, let alone scent work . I worked on clicker training sit stays with distractions today - me moving around and waving my arms around, playing with i-squeaks and throwing cheese. The dogs did really well except Sophie got up once to try and get the cheese naught little bugger she is :D .
  16. I've done the same but the only thing is I want to go back to a club for training but don't want to vaccinate my dogs yearly like they require so I think I'll have to stay a loner .
  17. That's an interesting point sandgrubber. Can I ask what your vaccination schedule for puppies to adult dogs is please. And then, do those kids get vaccinated every year of their lives? Nope. No they don't. I find it all very confusing .
  18. Wow that was alot of rain . I thought the water was going to come into the house at one stage.
  19. I tied Banjo up last week while I trained Sophie and I turned around to see him trying to chew through his lead, lucky no damage as I love my leads.
