Started Banjo in beginners agility last night and we had so much fun. He's usually mr cool calm and collected but he was my nutty agility dog last night ;) . He did so well the Instructor said he has alot of potential :D .

What a good dog :D .

It's all about being pack leader, starting the walk off the right way eg the dog is calm, you go through gate/doorway first, he likes to use a collar up high behind the dogs ears which I use for my big dog but I trained the Staffords on flat collars, if the dog pulls ahead it's a quick pull to the side then the lead must go loose, most people always walk with tension in the lead and the dog will pull against you if you're pulling. The dog should be at your side or behind you and I have a 'go on' if I want the dogs to go out infront of me but 99% of the time they're at my side. I can send you the season 1 dvd, it'll be good for you to actually see it rather than me try to explain it.

I don't know if you watch Cesar Milan but I'm a big fan and I can now walk my pack of three dogs on a loose lead beside me .

It's going to be freezing at training tonight. I might have to wear my new daggy polar fleece vest .

That's too bad

My dogs must be little angels , although the other day my Dad was walking out the the barbeque with cheese slices in his hand and Banjo jumped up and grabbed the cheese , he was so fast I didn't even see him do it just saw half a cheese slice left in my Dads hand . I told my Dad it was his fault for swinging his arms too much .

You're going to be busy :D .

I've been reading about training more than actually training lately . I'm loving the 'agility right from the start' book. Hopefully I can take Banjo to training tomorrow night, he's been out of action with conjuctivitis and sore feet .

Recommendation For Obedience School
Tiggy replied to ChocDood's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
I think your closest club would be Eden Hill but I'm not sure if they do puppy obedience. It's a great little club though . Midland is another option. -
Is this from CleanRun? I saw that and was hoping it would have free shipping, wanted to order it too! Do you mind me asking how much it cost you including shipping, and where from? :p I got mine from Air Dogs but it seems to be missing off their website now so maybe they sold out. It was about $45 with postage.

I got this book today. It's huge! Can't wait to start reading it. http://www.agilityrightfromthestart.com/

Bugger! Is that fully grown that it was too small for him? i dont want it to be too small, its just a matter of finding a place to put it as when i measured it out it felt like it will be massive! maybe its better to be on the safe side. dont want her being all cramped up in there. Yes fully grown.

The 1 metre rule for regular walks is crazy but I wish they'd ban flexi leads .
-
valleyCBR leave me all alone at Eden Hill then you big meanie :p ;) . The dogs eyes are much better today so hopefully we can come to training next week.
-
36" will be too small. I have that size for my Staffords and I tried my old dog in there who's a Lab X Rotty so about Golden height and it was way too small for him.

Hope she's ok

I couldn't take my dogs to training tonight because they have conjuctivitis .
