  1. I'd like a pretty ribbon You have to enter Sophie first for a chance Your almost "debut" trial is next weekend, you should have entered! I know I'm chicken ;) but her leg is still sore anyway so more rest for her
  2. I use wood chips because anything else blows away when we get them horrible easterly winds in summer, the dogs steal a few pieces when I first put it down .
  3. I think I need one to suit a Chessie first. How's Lincoln going? When do you fly over to SA? Lincoln is having a blast! 8 big dogs to play with, a dam to swim in every day, getting some retieving training, he is entered in a show next weekend and he has been playing with a litter of pups they have there. I fly to SA on the 8th and I am reunited with Lincoln on the 9th. Bet you can't wait but sounds like he's having a great doggy holiday
  4. I find the Joint Guard works better than the Sashas blend for my girl who has arthritis from a ruptured cruciate. I buy mine online it's far cheaper than Vets/Pet Stores.

  6. vCBR you'll have to get yourself a pretty green show suit for the Tollers
  7. Best not to ask Sometimes I feel like giving up, I am a mess at trials, my nerves are ridiculous and it is effecting Daisy terribly I can sympathise I use to be so nervous at horse shows I rode terribly and I just didn't enjoy it and it was so frustrating because I had this gorgeous horse who worked beautifully at home but get to a show and I was just too nervous. I hope when I eventually trial my dogs I'm not so nervous or I won't do it .
  8. I noticed you power walked your lead outs

  12. Agility is a lot of fun, I'd definitely recommend giving it a go, you can join a club for the fun/social side even if you don't aspire to trialling. My Mr Serious dog loves it!

  15. I'm sitting here cringing as I can here my back neighbour 'training' his new pup and I swear he just said down 20 times in a row then wait...wait...wait! I know most people just don't know better but .
  16. I've just realised as I work through the agility right from the start book(yes I love this book ) that I've always used a food reward after a click never a toy and the reward always comes from my hand, I never throw it or send the dog to a remote reward, which is why my dogs can't keep their eyes off me which is great for obedience not so much for agility. I'm learning something new everyday, thought I'd share .
  17. I must be the only one who isn't puppy clucky around here - Banjo will always be my baby
  18. I'm working through the agility right from the start book and in the chapter training yourself it has exercises to do to improve your treat delivery, I'm thinking this is easy enough click ... treat I know how to do that, yeah right I felt so unco . So you anchor both hands at your waist, treat with the nearest hand and can hold multiple treats in that hand and practice delivering one at a time, hold clicker and refill treats in the other hand, when you refill the treating hand that hand stays still and you bring the other hand over(that one was hard), and remain neutral. I'm having a brain meltdown.
  19. I haven't trialled my dogs yet but when I showed horses I use to get so nervous I didn't enjoy it, stupid nerves :p .
